A Touch of Rustic Christmas

Hello everyone,

It is cold here today so I am happy to
enjoy a hot cup of cocoa by the fire side
in our family room....hope you can join me!

I have been busy getting our home
ready for Christmas so we can
enjoy it on these long cooler evenings.

I love a warm and cozy rustic
look in our family room.

Join me for a hot cocoa and
a fireside chat on this cold
day. We don't have snow yet
but it has gone a little below
freezing for the past few nights.

Are you decorated for Christmas yet
or is it too early for you?

Here in Canada we celebrate our
Thanksgiving in October so
I start thinking of getting ready
early.

Thank you for visiting me today.

Take care,

Carolyn

A Rustic Fireside Tea

           Hello everyone,

We went from very mild weather to a cold
but sunny day here today.

After, our walk it was nice to come
back indoors and have a hot cup of
tea by the fireside.

Our family room has a more rustic look
now as we replaced our old fireplace
with a large propane stove a couple of
years ago and we added the rustic pine
boards to the wall behind.

Our summer cottage is all white so
having a warm rustic look in our
family room gives us a cozy place
to enjoy on cold winter days for a change.

I love the old snowshoes that
I bought at a yardsale a few years ago.

Sheep sugar cookies and a cup
of tea by the fireside with my
blue and white transferware.

Plaids and furry throws to
cozy up in.

We got a bit of snow again after
the rain we had a few days ago.
My planters look so much
better with a little snow on
       the evergreens and winter berries.
Hope to be back soon with more
Christmas  pics.

My husband and I took a trip to
Quebec City last week to enjoy
all the beautiful Christmas  decor
in Old Quebec......so I will share
a few pics of our trip as well.

Hope you are enjoying the season!

Rustic Country Christmas in Boathouse Conservatory

We had a beautiful sunny day
yesterday so I decided it was
the perfect day to do a little
                                                                      decorating for the Christmas/ winter
                                                                      season in our Boathouse.

This year I am going with a
rustic country theme.
Our little conservatory is
pretty small but it has lots
of light as we used old
french doors all around it.

A Friendly Village tea.

I love these old skates that I
have had for a long time and
you can't go wrong with plaid.

I think it looks nice and
cozy with the rustic theme.

In the past the Boathouse has
had several different looks...
not sure which is my favorite
but I had fun doing each one.
All, we need now is a little
snow to make it a perfect
winter retreat.

Next time I will share the nook
                          in the Boathouse also done
              in the  rustic theme.

I hope you enjoy the rustic
look in here as much as I do.

                             Happy Thanksgiving to all
                        my American friends!

                                          Thank you for visiting me!

A Rustic Winter Tea

   Happy December weekend!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I am happy to turn the calendar page to
December as I love the Christmas season!

I have been doing more Christmas touches
in and around our home as the weather was
decent for doing a bit outdoors today.....sure
glad the strong winds have left us.

Any way, I thought it was a good
day for a little rustic wintry tea.
I enjoy pops of red at this time
of the year so I brought out my
old enamelware tea pot and a
couple of enamelware mugs
but if you prefer you may use
my Christmas teacup.

A slice of mince meat pie will
be a nice treat.

Well I hope you enjoy the
rest of your weekend and
thank you for stopping by.

A Beautiful Winter Wedding

                                                                        Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

We had some added excitement this year
as our beautiful niece got married and we
were happy that they wanted to have some
of their wedding pictures taken in our home
and garden. Of course, I enjoyed grabbing my
camera and capturing some of  those memories.

It was a very cold day but they all braved the
cold for some beautiful outdoor shots and all
managed to have big happy smiles throughout.

Don't they make a beautiful couple?

I love this shot of Candace wearing her
                                                                   late grandmother's fur coat.
We were happy to have some snow for
a winter look.

They went with a rustic winter theme.
I enjoyed an evening helping to make
                                                         the winter bouquets,pew markers etc.

                                                            Their dresses were so pretty!
Love this shot of Candace and her dog Maggie.

Maggie is stealing the show here.

It was a beautiful wedding with lots of
laughter and fun and I really enjoyed
                                                                 sharing the time with them.

Wishing them a long and happy life
                                                                 together......and wishing you all a
Happy New Year filled with health
                                                                 and happiness!

                                                                                   Thank you for visiting,
                                                                                          Carolyn
