Winter White

Happy New Year!

Well another year is over and
a new year about to begin
I am sure I am not alone
in hoping the pandemic
will soon be behind
us and we will feel
safe once again.

We have not had much snow yet so
I was happy to see a nice dusting
of white on the trees and lawn
a couple of days ago.
You can see how pretty it
is through the window.

I have tea ready and it
is time to enjoy a
little downtime.

I love this English ironstone teapot that
was a gift from a friend.

I found a couple of teacups to
match it.

I took the Christmas tree
down that was in the
middle but still have
the rest of my Christmas
decor up. It seems just as
I hang on to summer as
long as I can I also want
to enjoy Christmas as
long as possible.
Soon, I will edit it down
to just winter stuff.

I would like to wish you all
a happy and healthy New Year
filled with  love ,joy and
beauty!

Take good care,

Carolyn

For the Love of Transferware

As many of you know I love
            transferware dishes in all
        colors so I thought you
might like to see a few
     vignettes some of my
collections.

Friendly Village

I do have some green/teal and white transferware
but it is harder to find around here.

Blue and white transferware is one
of my biggest collections.

Teal green on display
I love this teacup but I
have never seen any
other pieces of it around
here.

Red and white transferware is probably
my largest collection. I gather them
over time and often one piece at
a time.

The above teapot is made in Japan
and is very old.

                                                                      Blue and white always
                                                                      looks so fresh.

And it would be hard not to love
this soft brown and white teapot.
I have a couple of cupboards with
brown and white transferware but
you would be here all day if I
shared all of my collections!
I have a small collection of
black and white transferware.

I love this soft mauve and white teacup
with the old teapot.

Do you  collect transferware too? It
seems hard for me to pass on it
when I see it at thrift  shops.

Hope you are enjoying these January
days.

Thank you for visiting!

Carolyn

Romantic Valentine Roses

      Happy Weekend!

How quickly another week has gone
by and the weekend is already here!

Today, I got some beautiful roses for
an early Valentine's Day gift.

I love roses so although my favorite
are roses from our own garden
in winter these do make me happy!

               Beautiful roses in a vintage
         vase.

You will notice I had fun taking
pictures of them.

                  Love this teapot!

                                                                            Romantic roses

Well, it will soon be Valentine's Day
so treat yourself to something
special....you deserve it!

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

Dahlia Bouquets from the Garden

Hello!

I hope your week is going well.

We have had a touch of frost here
so I know that summer is over for
another year.
I don't grow a lot of dahlias here
in our garden because they are rather
labor intensive and have to be dug in
the fall and stored in the basement for
winter.
However, I do love having them for
bouquets so I do plant a few.

Nice to have a small bouquet of them
on my writing desk.

I like how these two dahlias
                                                                     look together.
                                                                         Snippets for my windowsill.

                                                                     A pretty bouquet from our
                                                                     cottage garden.
                                                                           Tea Time
Bouquets big or small  make me happy!

We were laying a new floor at our cottage
today and I am very happy with it ~ more
                                                        on that later though.

                                                                           Thank you for visiting me!

                                                                                           Carolyn

Happy Weekend

Happy Weekend!

I know we are moving into October tomorrow but
the weather has been lovely here this month so we
are enjoying some rest and relaxation at our little
seaside cottage this weekend.

White wicker chairs to relax in
and enjoy a cup of tea.

I got this shelf at the thrift store and
painted it white. It fits perfectly between
two windows and holds some blue and
                                                                white tea things.
I got this enamalware tea set
at the 70 mile yard sale last
weekend.

                                                                You can never have too
                                                                 many teapots.....can you?

As you probably noticed the color
theme for our cottage is blue & white.

I hope you don't mind that I seem to be
behind the times here with my summery
post but I couldn't resist sharing these
                                                          photos that I took today.

I actually enjoyed doing some Fall decorating
at home and should have some more seasonal
                                                          shots to share soon.

I hope you have a Happy Weekend!

                                                                                                  Carolyn
