A Chair Makeover

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend. We had
another blizzard here and the roads are still
not open for travel. This has been quite the
winter and doesn't seem like it is leaving any
time soon.
Anyway, it may be snowy outside but it a good
time to get some projects done indoors.

So, these chairs that I bought last year got a
little makeover. They had a dark stain on them
which was fine but didn't work in our space as
well as a less formal look so I painted them a creamy
white. The porch is also getting a makeover as my
husband and son put wainscotting on the bottom and
our painter gave it a couple of coats of white and the walls
revere pewter which was a few shades lighter then the original.

I am still working on decorating the porch
but I love that sunshine streaming in!

A pretty rose from a miniature rosebush
                                                         on the windowsill.

                                                             This is the chair before.

Well since we are snowed in I might as well
go and do another spring project so we will
be all fresh and pretty when spring arrives.

I am joining BNOTP for Metamorphosis Monday.

Hope you have a good day!

WOW! What a transformation - love the chairs painted as such.

It's very warm and sunny here and the huge mounds of snow are slowly melting...yet they're calling for snow on Thursday. So for today I am enjoying it and even have my window in my home office open for fresh air. Romeo the kitty is quite enraptured by this open window watching the birds. : - )

I just love the creamy colour on your chairs.
Hope you'd get rid of the snow soon. Here we have spring now and that's nice.
Love Elzie

I love those chairs and the makeover you gave them. They are really pretty. Your porch looks beautiful and I like the colours you chose for paint. That was indeed quite a blizzard yesterday. I know you got more than we did but ours was bad enough. What a winter we've had eh? It's nice to know that spring is just around the corner though.

I love what you have done with the chairs Carolyn. Just beautiful and the porch is lovely too. Your entire house is! I also loved seeing the pretty aqua post before this.
I hope you have an enjoyable week and that the roads clear soon.

You have the chairs gave a beautiful make-over, Carolyn.
What a beautiful soft color.
You still have snow, here it is increasingly spring with sunny days.
A beautiful week desired!

Such a pretty scene with your revamped chairs and the new wall treatment with the table, flowers and sunshine! Every time I hear on the news that your area got another dump of snow, I think of you and hope you aren't too snowed in. Hopefully spring is on its way soon for you too - you've certainly created it inside!

Hi Carolyn,

I love your blog and find it either inspiring or restful and sometimes both after a long day or a great way to start my day. I have a tea question for you, could you please email me. I have tried the link for your email but something is not installed correctly on my computer to allow me to use the link. Thanks so much and have a nice day

I have always LOVED this style of chair. I find them classic and sophisticated. I have only one at the moment;however, that will change soon. Your work is beautiful and, I really like your room, I bet you log in a lot of hours in it. TFS.
