Beautiful Charleston

                                                                              Hello everyone,

I hope you are not tired of our trip photos because
I wanted to share a few shots of beautiful Charleston.
We have been to Charleston a few times before so
this time we just took a day trip up from Beaufort S.C.
We took a horse and carriage ride here again as well.
This is called Rainbow Row and you can see
                                                       the houses are colorful.

One of the things I love about Charleston
is all the beautiful gardens and fences.
We took a walk by here as it is where
we spent an enjoyable week last time.
It is called the Aiken Mansion~perfect
                                                             for us!
                                                          Beautiful flowers in all colors.

I didn't have time to take as many shots
as I would have liked so I am sharing a
                                                             few I took before.
                                                            Magnolia Plantation is beautiful~
                                                            just outside Charleston.

Some of the beautiful fences of Charleston.
                                                                       Beautiful statues as well.
If you ever get the chance to go to Charleston, take it as I
am sure you will love it!

I only know Charleston through the eyes of Theodosia Browning - that is through Laura Child's Tea Murder Mystery books and her fictitious Indigo Tea Room. Your photos are lovely of the "real" place!

Charleston is my favorite city in the U.S. I haven't been there for quite a few years, so thank you for sharing your lovely pictures. I so agree, their fences, gates, and gardens are so beautiful. You are so lucky to have been there during azalea time as it seems the whole city is abloom.

My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon in Charleston, and we loved it! We don't buy much artwork, but we have 2 Jim Booth prints of Charleston hanging in our home. Please share all of the photos of that gorgeous city you want!

It's so odd that we were in Charleston the same day I think! Your photos are beautiful. I too tend to take fence photos. And we may have taken the same wisteria photo! I hope you saw my post on your book. I am enjoying it. Have a nice weekend,

I loved Charleston when we visited there about 6 years ago. I brought home a painting of one of those colorful houses. It hangs in our bedroom. It was yellow and red, of course.

Charleston looks like the sort of town, that I love. I have heard many stories of it's beauty in Holland as well.

Have you visited mrs Whaley's garden? She passed away a few years ago, but I wonder if her garden is still there.

Happy weekend!

Your pics of Charleston - could never get sick of seeing them. I have always wanted to go there - nearly did when I made it to Savannah but didn't get to Charleston.

One of my favorite close tea society "sisters" lives near there and is always wanting the rest of us to come down. Was going to early spring this year but a family member turned ill and I have been her caregiver......so hopefully next year for sure when everything is in full bloom and not yet too hot!

And for anyone reading comments - I *highly* suggest buying Carolyn's book - it is GORGEOUS! And it makes a very nice gift for someone special for sure!

Carolyn, is there a chance you are related to the owners of Aiken Mansion? That is such a unique name- just wondering.

Happy Mother's Day to you. Hugs.

Hi Carolyn,
We saw some of the same things but my photography isn't as good as yours. We did have a lovely time though. The horse and carriage ride was so nice and I saw Rainbow Row. Loved all the soft colors and verandas everywhere.
Thank you for the nice reminder.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful pix; we were there years ago and loved it! One of my favorite things were the colored row houses so it was fun to see those on your blog. Happy Summer.
