Autumn Joy

Hello everyone,

It is such a joy to be able to eat outdoors on a lovely Autumn day.

I have a table set for us where we can enjoy the pretty colors in our Autumn garden.

I decorated a chair just for you!

I have used my humble brown and white transferware china again.

Remember this old bike that my Dad used when he was in his seventies. My Dad passed away 15 years ago so I am glad to have this reminder of him along with many memories of a loving father.

I think homemade soup would be perfect on this Autumn day-I hope you are bringing it because I have been too busy setting up this outdoor table to cook! HaHa!

I bought this old basket at the estate sale a couple of weeks ago.

Well, it has been a joy having you stop by for an Autumn lunch out in the garden.

I am joining Susan again at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

Enjoy your day!

Carolyn

Dearest Carolyn,

Oh yes, I do bring you a creamy butternut-squash soup and that will be perfect for that soup terrine you have!
How lovely it all looks and I like the part where you give tribute to your dear Dad. No matter how long a loved one has been gone, they live forever with and in us.
Today we had a funeral of the Dad of a dear friend... so it touches the soul a bit more than usual.
But that's life and we must go on but it's so good for keeping the spirit alive!
Have a great week and hopefully some more sunny days. Sending you some sun rays from Georgia,

Carolyn, you live a life of grace and beauty. I think this is such a gorgeous tablescape. One like I have never seen. My mouth is hanging open at the moment at the beauty you create all around you!
I loved the previous post of all the Fall flowers in your garden now. What a sight it must be in person.
I have to comment on your tea, straight out of the pages of Victoria. If you ever publish a book, I would wear the pages out leafing through it constantly, just like the pages of all my Victorias.
hugs to you from here...

Your garden lunch is so enticing! Your garden still looks so lush and fresh, so many bright colors and blooms still going. I'm already mentally withdrawing into the confines of home, leaving my poor plants to the semi-sleep stage they seem to go into here, even tho 'here' is So. Calif. They don't like that 15 degree drop in temps any more than I do, LOL. Thanks for sharing your beauty and bounty with us.

Dear Carolyn,
your garden all dressed up in Fall colors is a real marvel.
The way you have set your table is unique: I adore your white and brown transferware china. it's making me a wee bit jealous. It's simply gorgeous.
May I come over for the soup if you manage to have someone bring some? I could sqeeze in among what I belive would be very many bloggy friends joining.
Have a great weekend

Oh my gosh..... what a WONDERFUL, perfectly happy post this is. I LOVE your deco work, the bike of your dear dad however is the cherry on the autumnal cake! I stumbled into your blog by sidestepping into fellow bloggers commenting on ParisDailyPhoto and I think I'd like to follow you a bit more around...
Loved visiting your area when I lived for a short while in Toronto a looooong time ago and travelled for three months around Canada and some of USA before returning! It's uplifting to 'visit' old hunting grounds....
Love, Kiki

Hi Carolyn,

Your naps on the porch sound good :-)! You decorated the table beautifully.

We are having some sunny weather in Holland as well. Hopefully I will find some time to visit a plant fair on sunday. It will be lovely with the sun. I already look forward to it very much.

Wish you a happy weekend!

lieve groet, Madelief

Everything is lovely and I particularly liked the brown and white settings. I lean to blue and white, but I just inherited brown and white plates, sugar/creamer, and two large platters from my mother in law. Then, imagine my happy surprise to see "my" tea cups in your scene. Last fall I found two of these English Sailor's Farewell tea cups and saucers in a flea market!
