A Gardener's Tea

Hello again,

I hope you had a lovely Easter filled
with joy and the wonder of the Cross.
We had our family here after church
for a lovely potluck brunch.

Today, there was time to enjoy afternoon
tea with a beautiful bouquet of pink
tulips, lavender, and herbs.

And of course, a pretty teacup
to enjoy my tea.

The Romantic Language of Flowers
to peruse (Thank you Cheryl)

American Beauty is my teacup of
choice today. (Thank you Linda).
So nice to have friends that
know me so well!

Taking a few moments to reflect on
all the garden beauty that will be
happening soon!

Yesterday, we had our family ......all 27
of us for brunch so I set up
4 casual tables to enjoy
lots of good food. I wish
I had time to take some pics
of the food......we have
some good cooks in the
family and it was a
colorful display.

Garden season has arrived !
We had some great weather
last week so there is a lot
happening out there! There
is always lots of raking and
cleanup at this time of the year.
The birds are busy building nests
and the pond is all thawed and the
ducks are enjoying it.

Spring cleaning indoors will soon
be done .

And last but not least we have been working
on our little Ocean Song Cottage.
This is the little nook we are working
on now. This was an open deck before
and my husband and son enclosed it
I painted and made curtains for it but
we are building a platform for a queen
built in bed this week so for now
there is just a single bed in there.
Someday, I will share the before and
after as we put our own stamp on this
little cottage by the sea!

I am excited to have our garden feature
in Victoria hit the stands here tomorrow
as my copy has not arrived yet.

Thank you to all who left good wishes
for Easter .

Take care,

             Carolyn

Blue & White Easter Bunny Tea

Spring is in the air here with the
promise of some double digit( Celsius
temperatures here in a few days.)
I see daffodils poking up in the garden
as soon as the snow melts off them

As you may have noticed I
                  enjoy little vignettes around
             our home and when time
allows I play with my camera
       taking shots of them.

The Bunny plate is from Homesense ~
it seems I either shop at thrift stores
or at our local Homesense.

Blue and white is one
of my favorite color
combinations.

Vintage teacup

I love this small teapot with
the teacup under it.

Well, now that my Easter Bunny Tea is over
I better get back to my painting .Today, I hope
to finish our bathroom makeover. The toile
wallpaper is gone and it just needs another
coat of paint on the wainscoting.  I will share
                                                                   some pics soon.

                                                                                 Today, I am joining  Bernideen's
                                                                                  Friends Sharing Tea party.

                                                                                           Thank you for stopping by!

Touches of Easter Tea & Projects

        Hello everyone,

I hope your week is going well.

We have been busy with projects here
so time seems to be flying by.

However, I always enjoy a cup
     of tea for my break.

I enjoyed my tea in a pretty
aqua teacup today with a
touch of Easter vignette.

                                                                           Soft and pretty

Yesterday was bread making day.
This week we are enjoying raisin
oatmeal bread.

I bought 4 stacking chairs at the Restore  for our
little cottage and gave them a makeover.
Actually, I only got 2 done but will finish the
other 2 tomorrow. I liked the idea of stacking chairs
as a space saver for a small space but wanted them to look
prettier so I painted them white and then added the blue                                                                                stripes with a number on the back to give them a
                                                                    beachy look.

My little granddaughter wanted a pouf
for her bedroom but they all seemed
expensive to me so when I was at a
local thrift shop I saw this footstool
that I thought I could over for her and
as luck would have it I had picked up the
perfect white furry fabric there a couple
of weeks ago so I got out my sewing
machine and covered it for her. I think
it makes a pretty cute pouf for less then
$7 dollars. I am sure she will be happy with
it and maybe her sister will be putting in an
                                                                         order for one too!

I made four new aqua/blue pillows
yesterday as well for a more
spring like look in our family
                                                                         room. They are made from
nice fabric that also came from
                                                                         a thrift shop.

I couldn't resist these cute blue and
white bunny plates for Easter.

I have been enjoying getting
some projects done for the past
several weeks but won't mind at all
when they are done and we can move
on to gardening!

                                                                              Thank you for visiting,

                                                                                                Carolyn

Sunny Yellow for Easter

             Hello everyone,

Since Easter is this weekend I dug out
these whimsical Easter dishes that I
bought a few years ago at the Cracker
Barrel in Florida.

I wanted some bright cheerful colors
in our little sun room today .

I don't normally have much yellow
but I am trying to forget we still
have a lot of snow and this sunshine
                                                             yellow is so cheerful.
                                                                  A little rabbit carrying his
                                                                  Easter egg.

                Yellow tulips ready to open.

It is hard to believe it is already April.....hoping
for some spring to arrive here soon but in the
mean time I can enjoy some spring touches in the
                                                     sun room.
We are off to church shortly for our Maundy Thursday
Candlelight service.but I hope to be back with another post
                                                    before Easter.

I am joining BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday today.

                                                                                Thank you for visiting,

                                                                                                 Carolyn
