A Peaceful Garden Stroll

Hello everyone,

I hope you are enjoying a peaceful
Sunday snuggled in at home.

I thought you might enjoy a little
stroll through the garden quietly
enjoying the fragrance and the
song on the birds.

I am here quietly weeding while you take a stroll.

The beautiful mauve/ blue flower down
both sides of the alle are six hills giant
nepeta and although they are still there
they don't bloom as well now since the
other plants have grown up and so they
get more shade now. Just goes to show
a garden is always changing!

Stay safe and stay well,

Carolyn

Draga Carolyn,
Imbratisari, Mia

Hello, I have always followed your blog a little bit. However, in light of recent events (including NS), I have felt the urge to escape the news.

In one magazine they described you and your husband as having "created a haven" for yourselves. I sometimes feel guilty for indulging myself in fabrics, gardens, paints, in prettying things up and creating a kind of pretty, soothing alternate universe for myself. Now such pursuits seem to simply make sense.

Do you ever feel guilty about prettying up home and garden? In the collectinons for example, of plants, fabrics, plates, etc. These are all things I love.

I wish I could be there to stroll with you (minus the weeding!).... and I even DO like weeding.. it is so satisfying. Your gardens do evoke such feelings of peace and calm.... a little (or big) oasis.. and I love all the green.. the old picket fences, arbors and benches, watering cans, etc. It all reminds me of times gone by.. I would love to have a small oasis in our small backyard.. I keep trying, but every year, the weeds just take over everything! I can live through your gardens I guess! Marilyn (Oregon)

Thank you so much Carolyn for taking the time to share your gorgeous garden with all of us. It's peaceful just looking at the pictures and for me it's just what I need right now.For sure I'm not the only one. I feel like I am in Heaven in the middle of all those beautiful flowers and the water.
You must have a lot of work but the results are amazing Carolyn!
Stay healthy and safe.

This makes me long for warmer, greener days. Days when I can visit local gardens and just take it all in. Soon, very soon! Thank you for the beautiful reminder of what summer is.
