Garden Season ~ coming soon!

       Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend in spite
of all that is going on around the world.

We had lots of sunshine and I don't know about
but that always makes things look better and perks
me up.

We spent a lovely afternoon sitting on the front
deck at the cottage. I was happy to see the little
song birds where singing away again.

I am really looking forward to  the return of our
garden so we can enjoy spending time getting it
cleaned up and ready for a new season. That will
mean we have no time for the world news!

It will be awhile before the garden looks
like this but I am encouraged to see some
daffodils poking up. We do still have snow
on most of our beds yet though.

             Garden blues

So looking forward to tea in the garden.

Lilacs and clematis are two of my favs.
These pics are from my early blogging
                                                       days.

                                                  I

I love these rich colors in the garden.

Ah! so looking forward to
lilac season!

What about you, are you looking
forward to garden season too?

Hope you are staying well
both mentally and physically

Take good care!
Carolyn.

Flower Power

    Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well in these
uncertain times.

I gathered up some romantic
little bouquets for you.......
hoping it brings a little cheer
your way.

These are bouquets from our
garden over the past years.

Peonies are one of my very
favorite bouquets.

I love how a simple sprig
makes a charming bouquet.

Hydrangeas and pretty china always
make me happy.

Tulips and carnations

Looking forward to days on the porch
again soon, I hope.

I have gathered more bouquets for
a theme so more bouquets coming soon.

We have a big pot of soup simmering on
the stove so I better go make some
scones to go with the soup.

Take good care and stay well !

                                                                                              Carolyn

A Spring Sunroom Tea

                                                           Hello everyone,

I am happy to welcome spring even though
we had a good winter~ I am looking forward
to spring flowers in the garden again .

Today was a beautiful sunny day
here so I decided to add my plants
to the sunroom to give it some
                                                             spring cheer.

It is my favorite place for
tea this time of the year.

I have a lot of my dainty pink
china in the sunroom

A pretty teapot

My geraniums are starting to bloom
well giving me pleasure.

The sunroom is small but so cheery.

Thank you for all your lovely comments
I enjoy hearing how you are doing during
this difficult time. Happy you are holding
up well too..... as we are here.

                                                                      Take good care!
                                                                                 Carolyn

Guest Bedroom

Hello everyone,

How are you all coping with these
stressful times?

It seems like every hour there is
some new big announcement on
the pandemic .

Here on Prince Edward Island we
have declared a health emergency.
We only have one confirmed case at
this time but Schools and many
  businesses ,restaurants etc. are closed

We have been staying at home here but
enjoying our long walks and occasional
drives in the country.
Time is spent in the kitchen making healthy meals
and baking our own bread. I have some painting
projects to do also so we are fairing out fine as
are our children and their families. I hope all of
you are well and remain well both mentally and
well. I think this is a good time to worry less and
pray more!

I walked into our guest room this morning
and with the sunshine I thought I would
take a few photos of it.
This room got a makeover a couple of years
ago. It had taupe and cream wallpaper on
it before. We also painted the furniture.

Relaxing

So, what are you doing to pass
the time if you are self isolating?

Do you like to watch the news to
hear the latest updates or retreat
a little and forget about it all
for awhile?

Love and prayers,

Carolyn

Blue and White Teapots

                 Hello everyone,

I hope your week is going well.

I know I shared my red and white
                       transferware teapots awhile ago
but I don't think some of my
blue and white ones have ever
been shared here.

So,  I grabbed my camera
and took a few shots for you.

This teapot was a gift from a
friend. It is Genvine Ironstone
Ellgreave , England.

This teapot belonged to my Dutch Mama.

My husband gave me this tea set a
few years ago. It came from a
local gift shop.

I have a couple of other blue and
white teapots but they are at
our cottage and I am sure I
have shared them already.

A little search turned up a few of
my other blue and white tea pots
taken in the summer.

Enamelware tea set with
blue and white willow mugs.

My blue chintz set.

Well, I think that is all of my collection.
Hope you enjoyed a peek at them.

I think now is a good time to get
myself a nice cup of tea!

Thank you for visiting!

Carolyn

Ocean Song Cottage ~ Peaceful Days

         Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a beautiful
weekend.

I have been dreaming lately of
peaceful days at our little
cottage.~ Ocean Song.

By late April we will be getting it ready
for the summer season.

But ,soon we will enjoy a couple of hours
on sunny, warm days with a book
and a thermos of tea.

A sure sign of spring  ere on the Island
is the return of robins and last
week we had our first sighting.

As you can see shades of blue and white
is the theme at our cottage.

We have done a lot of work to our
cottage to make it our own and still
have a few projects that we want to
do when tte mood strikes.

Our kitchen at Ocean Song. after we
made our changes to it.

The view at high tide
             Low tide at our cottage.

Linger over a cup of tea!

I enjoy long walks on the beach
when we are at the cottage. I love
to find seaglass on our walks to add
to my collection.

So, although I am looking forward to
those summer days, I also want to
enjoy these last days of winter
and the early signs of the
arrival of spring.

Wishing you a peaceful Sunday!

Take care,
Carolyn
