Random Bits

Hello again,

It is another beautiful sunny warm day
here and I am happy to say that my husband
and I have finished our garden cleanup.
It is always a good feeling to get it done
before the cold weather sets in.
Anyway, I was looking through some
of my photos and saw these shots of our
kitchen at Ocean Song Cottage that we
did a bit of a makeover on in the last year
or so.....anew window,countertop,sink,and
some new to us cupboards

We are still doing little projects here at a more leisurely pace
while we enjoy our time here.

Yesterday, I found these pretty vintage dishes
at the thrift store

I love this pretty gift bag that came with some
lovely tea treats......thanks Barbara!

I cut a small bouquet of hydrangeas from
one of my shrubs yesterday .They have
taken on their fall colors

I couldn't resist playing with my
pretty new china for awhile

I am not sure yet if I will use them
or display them on a wall

Well, it is so lovely out here I think I
will so for a sea glass hunt before the
season for my walks on the beach
comes to a close for another year

Thanks for your visit today .

Take care,
Carolyn

I think the prettiest of all is the gift bag. How lovely. Good luck with the seaglass. I collect seaglass and have a jar filled with bits from various different countries. Do you just collect and enjoy or do you craft with it?

Hi Andi,
So far, I just enjoy the hunt for it and displaying my prettiest ones on window sills and in bowls but I do have a lot of it and was just thinking that I should do something more creative with it. Fun to have a collection from different countries though!
The gift bag is super cute and was a gift from a blog friend from California
Take care

Thank you Sandi for your visit

It's all so beautiful-I'm a dish fanatic and have run out of room to store dishes but it's hard to resist. I wish I could hunt for sea glass because it's lovely. I bought a small bag at a craft store. I crochet around one piece and hope to do it to the other few pieces I have someday but I kind of enjoy them plain with the one fancy one in the center so maybe I won't. My hydrangeas are lovely too-one is a gorgeous green tinged in burgundy. I would love to dry them but have no luck even using Alum spice that many said would preserve the color. They eventually turn brown. Thanks for sharing.

I love your new kitchen.. it's so light and bright! What a view too! What a wonderful time to be at the beach this time of year. On the Oregon coast, it's just perfect usually - no wind and warm sunny days... all this before the winter storms start to hit in Nov. and December. I LOVE that little gift bag and those pretty dishes too! Have a wonderful time and enjoy that sunshine. Marilyn

Hi Carolyn! I'm so glad you liked the little gift bag. You certainly showed it off to perfection with the hydrangea and the lovely blue tablecloth behind, and your pretty new vintage china. I was thrilled to see it on the blog! Thanks also for sharing pictures of your beautiful PEI fall. Still hot and dry here, ugh! Keep those pretty pictures coming. Warmest wishes from your friend in California!

Hi Carolyn, it's always nice to make improvements! The thrift find china is a real deal!! They look so pretty on display. I wanted to ask you if you know when your next Aug. tea will be? Some of my friends, my sisters, and I are planning a trip to your lovely island. We want to attend the tea!! Your garden is a delight!
hugs,
Jann
