Summer Blues

Hello everyone!

I hope you are enjoying lovely summer
days.

With the arrival of summer beach days
are a favorite for many of us Islanders.

                                                                          Blue and white cottage.

Relaxing by the seaside.

Garden blues are a summer favorite
for me as well.
I do love delphiniums!

                    Love these rich purple blues!

This blue arbor stands out in the garden.
My husband built this arbor and gate a
few years ago.

                                                                 Summery blue tea and scones
                                                                 in the garden.
Well, time to relax now with a
good book as the waves lap
gently on the shore and listen
to the occasional cry of the seagulls.....
                                                           ah! perfection!!!

                                                                       Take care,

                                                                             Carolyn

Welcome Summer!

                                                                        Hello everyone!

Summer is my favorite season here on the
Prince Edward Island so I am happy it has
arrived. Our temperatures have been cooler
but by midweek summer temperatures are
                                              going to arrive.

I love the summery shot (above) that I took at our
daughter's cottage that it right next to ours. It was
a fixer upper and they did an amazing job on it.
Hopefully, soon I can share some photos of the
                                             before and after.

It is lupin season here on the Island so there are
lots of these summer beauties going wild on the
roadsides here.

I love the lupins in our garden as well.
The early peonies are in bloom now too.
I  Picked some rhododendrons for a
small bouquet.

The Deutizas are in full bloom in our
little secret garden.

We went for a drive down east
on the weekend and I had to stop
                                                                  for this summer shot.

Fort Amherst park overlooking
the Charlottetown Harbour.

Relax and enjoy!

This year we are having our annual open garden
on Wednesday, July 11th from 6 to 8 so if
you would like to come and wander the garden
come along and bring a friend or two if you like.

                                                                                Happy Summer!

Lilac Tea at Ocean Song Cottage

     Hello everyone,

It is lilac time here on the Island so
I have picked a big bouquet to enjoy
with my afternoon tea at our little
Ocean Song Cottage.

We are having some very cool nights with below
freezing temperatures even one night last week
and since we are in a low lying area some of my
lilac blooms were destroyed so I will have to
enjoy the ones that survived. I think the last
time that happened was over 20 years ago.

I love the fragrance as well as the beauty
of lilacs.
I am using blue and white as my tea time
theme.

There are still some late tulips
blooming in our garden.

I can no longer send my photos over to my blog from
Picasa so it is taking me much longer to load them
from photoshop as I can only send one at a time from there.
Probably there is a faster way that I haven't figured out
yet though.
Is anyone else having that problem with picasa?

Wishing you a lovely week!

Carolyn

Apple Blossom Tea

Hello everyone,

I hope your June is going well.
June is my favorite month of the
year as the Island looks so lush
green and beautiful!
Also, our garden takes on a
life of it's own with lots
still to look forward to.

It has been quite awhile since I posted
here but there is so much to do
right now that it is hard to find
the time and I confess that the less I
post the less I even think about my
poor little blog.

We have had an unusual spring here as
we had ice in our birdbath a few nights
ago and some of  our trees got hit with
a heavy frost . The buds on my yellowbird
magnolia were froze and that has never
happened to it before. Thankfully, the lilac
buds looked limp but have recovered.
They will soon be blooming and I am
looking forward to big bouquets of
them.

Anyway, it is tea time  and the
apple blossoms are in full bloom
here now so I picked a small
bouquet.

I see the rain has stopped so my tea time
is over as I can get out and enjoy doing
                                                                     some gardening now!

                                                                                    Thank you for stopping by,

                                                                                                     Carolyn
