Calico Tea

                                                                       Hello everyone,

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

We are in the process of closing up
our Ocean Song cottage for the winter
so before we leave I want to enjoy a
cup of tea using my calico tea set that
                                                           I bought a few months ago. I know I
didn't need another teapot but how
could I resist ? It suits well with the
blue and white theme at the cottage.

I love the mugs too that were also a
                                                        thrift find.

We will still be popping in to the
cottage but won't be staying at
                                                                   night again until spring.

My calico tea set sits happily on
the table waiting until our next
                                                                     tea time.

I had my last house and garden tour
on Thursday and we have decided not
to do the tours next year. I really enjoyed
my visitors over the last several years but
relaxing more at our little seaside cottage
doesn't seem like a good thing at this time
                                                                      in our lives.
So, with milder weather this week we
will get our garden cleaned up for winter
and then soon start decorating for the Christmas
season that will be here before we know it!

                                                                                              Thank you for popping in!

                                                                                                                 Carolyn

I think I have a teapot to match your mugs! The tea set in the sunny window looks like it's just waiting for your return!

Hi Carolyn,
I love your blue and white tea set and mugs. I have enjoyed your garden photos so much over the years. I do understand you desire to discontinue your tours in the summer. Having a lovely cottage by the sea is fabulous for you to enjoy since you have such a short spring and summer season. Life is short and every moment counts as we get older. Please keep posting your beautiful home and garden for my enjoyment.
Joyously,
Betty

I am glad to hear you are taking a well deserved rest from your tours. The Ocean Song is a beautiful spot and I love when you post from there! I also have been thinking of the start of the holiday season and can't wait to see your beautiful home again this Christmas! Sandi Cape Cod

Just love the blue and white cottage and the teapot and the little sailboat peering out the window at the sea! Here in Oregon, growing up we went to the coast ALOT during the winter months. We enjoyed it so much, watching the storms and waves crashing on the shore. In fact, going in the winter is my favorite time to go! Hope you can continue to go to your cottage during the winter months too. It is so different and beautiful. I can understand not having garden tours open to the public, but I SO HOPE you continue having you gorgeous and stunning gardens, so that we the blog readers can continue relishing them! I always look forward to your wonderful posts! xoxo Marilyn
