Pink Tea on the Veranda

                                                              Hello everyone!
We are having some amazing summer weather here and I am enjoying all the wonderful fragrance of the Korean lilacs and the Preston lilacs as well as the roses and peonies. The garden is full of the songs of so many birds right now.
We eat out here all summer as it is screened in and on the south of our house with a nice view of the gardens and I can't tell you how amazing it smells right now with the Korean lilac (Miss Kim) in full bloom right behind our table. Our veranda/porch will seat about 24 people so it is well used!
One of my favorite desserts this summer is Sour Cream Raspberry Coffeecake. It is just sweet enough but not too sweet to satisfy my sweet tooth!

Hope you can sit for awhile and enjoy the a piece with of it with your tea!
The peonies are all popping into their magnificent beauty. I must get back out to the garden and pick a big beautiful bouquet!
We have about 100 peonies in our garden so there is no shortage for bouquets!

On a different note, I bought this pretty hot chocolate set a few weeks ago at Coulson's Antiques in Summerside- I love it!
These were taken a few weeks ago when the French lilacs were in bloom.
Well,I must get back to the garden but you can linger on the veranda with your tea if you like!

I am joining Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday.

    Thank you for stopping by,

Beautiful post, Carolyn. I can't say enough about that gorgeous hot chocolate set.

I am so envious that you are able to grow lilacs and peony's, two of my favorite flowers but here in N FL we cannot grow them. Your post was lovely as always and that Raspberry Coffee Cake looks delicious. Would you be willing to share the recipe.

Each and every one of your photo shoots are so entrancing, but I was trying to figure out why this one is even more so.I think it's the oval architectural details on the porch that make it so.

By the way, I haven't had a chance to tell you but I did order your book and I love it!

Your tea is so beautiful! I can just imagine sitting in your veranda and enjoying the sights and smells along with your delicious dessert. I am glad to see your lilacs as mine too are blooming. I thought I lived in the only spot in North America that had lilacs this late in the season!
It will be awhile before my peonies are blooming. They are still small buds! Yours are gorgeous! Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week!

Carolyn, this is so enchanting. You always manage to steal my heart with your photos. The peonies are truly divine and that vintage chocolate set is stunning. I just received your book today and what a treasure it is. I am saving it for the weekend so I truly enjoy the magnificent images and inspiring words. Thank you for sharing such beauty with us and for being such an inspiring friend.

Hi Carolyn,
My goodness, those are pretty photos! What a fragrant tea time you must have out there with the scent from those beautiful flowers wafting its way in.
I think that teapot is my favourite! You have so many pretty ones but I always swoon when I see this one. Your coffee cake looks delicious. I'm so happy to have you come for tea. I hope sometime soon, it can be in person!

Oh my goodness, how lovely!

What a sight for sore eyes.

I am so glad your weather has been nice - ours has been so unbearably hot and humid and mixed with rain - then back to super sunny and humid.

Last thing to want is tea in the garden. : - (

Love yours though!!

Wish I could get a whiff of those lilacs and peonies, Carolyn.

100 peonies! WOWSERS. They must be soooo magnificent.

Would love to sit on the veranda on a cool day. (Don't like the heat).

Loved all your splendorous photos. Susan

Another fabulous tea table with a pretty bouquet of peonies. I have to ask, do you deadhead all those peony bushes?
I make a blueberry coffee cake with sour cream, I could easily substitute raspberries as your cake looks yummy.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it, Carolyn!
We are just getting up here in Grand Haven. The weather has been in the 80's since Saturday and sunny everyday, except for a brief thunderstorm yesterday morning. What a great trip we are having!!! You and Andrew would really enjoy it -all the gardens are spectacular, especially the private one (nursery owner) we toured last night by special invitation after the meetings and my Pink Days In Bloom presentation! Windmill Island Gardens in Holland was also a treat - your mom would appreciate that - got me some real wooden shoes! lol The beaches are spectacular here!!! Catch up with you soon. Have a great day! That dessert is making me hungry....XO

Stunning photos! We are considering adding a gable patio to our home to use as a great space to entertain when family and friends visit. I can certainly use your blog for some inspiration when the time comes. Thank you for sharing!
