A Vanity/Dresser Makeover

                                                                   Hello Everyone!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend.I have been working on some projects lately so I thought I would share one with you today.

I found this old dresser at an antique shop awhile ago and I thought it was high time I brought it in and gave it a few coats of paint.
I have always loved these old vanity dressers with the curved drawers and big oval mirrors.

I am sorry I didn't get better photos for you but I had 3 minutes to take the these.
So the paint is barely dry and I have some tweeking yet to do in the room.I will take better pics later.
This is what it looked like when I bought it and the man that sold it told me all I had to do was wax it- I hope he doesn't mind that I painted it instead(what he doesn't know won't hurt him). While I was painting it I was wondering if it was painted before and he spent hours stripping it!
Anyway, I have also been planting hundreds of fall bulbs for a spring show below. I am happy to say that I have them all planted.
I put my sewing machine to good use today making curtains and pillows. We have a BIG project we have been working on too but more on that later as it is still in the works!

I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis's Monday today.

Thank you for visiting,
Carolyn

Oh, that is pretty. I thought the same thing...I'll bet he spent hours stripping it. Men love to see the original wood and never understand painting it. I like it white. Deb

The bulbs you are planting look glorious. It takes a lot to do all of that work now in anticipation of what will come.

I love your makeover on that dresser--it looks so much prettier dressed in paint:) I bet you do plant a lot of bulbs. I need to get busy doing that here too! It has been so warm and humid--but it is November! Sometimes I forget. Enjoyed your post :)

Painting wood furniture creeps a lot of people out, but I don't have any problem doing it. Some pieces I leave alone because they do look better unpainted but for the most part I prefer furniture that is painted. To each their own. To me there is no right or wrong, just what you prefer. I love the flower bulbs that you planted. You have me inspired.

This bedroom is so restfull and lovely. Who wouldn't want to lay down there? And the drawer looks great. They are beautiful and with the white color it looks even better.
It'll be lovely to see all those beautiful bulbs in bloom next spring. And what are you doint with all those curtains? Can't wait to see the result.
Hope you have a lovely day.
Love Elzie

Dear Carolyn,

The fact that your tulips came from Holland put a smile on my face! It must have been quite a job to plant them all. It looks like a huge amount.

Your dresser looks wonderful with a layer of white paint. Such a great find!

Happy day!

I love the dresser and I would have painted it white too...it has such pretty lines.
Wow, you have been busy planting. I was just thinking about getting some bulbs in. I think you just inspired me to "Get Busy"
