Bits and Pieces

                               Hello everyone,
Another sunny day here so I better get out and do a little watering in the garden before it gets too hot. I took the shot above last week in our garden. This is the time of year when we have the most color in our garden but this year due to a dry spring and summer the garden is definitely showing signs of stress and looking rather tired in places.Fortunately,I am the one with the camera and I won't be showing those places!
If I was a painter I would like to paint this or the one above. I love these color combos.
Coming around the east of our house to the south.
A little bouquet of pretty pastels.
I love this shot of our granddaughter who will soon be turning 7.
A pretty double daylilly lights up the garden.

Due to the lack of rain our pond has dropped several inches.
                                                  Veronica
                             Clematis and hydrangea.
This bed at the bottom is a new addition last fall. It has a few clashing colors because the daylillies where dormant when moved so I didn't know what colors they were.

This has an old fashioned appeal to me.
Hope you enjoyed some 'bits and pieces' of my life.

Tomorrow,I will be sharing" the making of our garden" in a guest post for Kathy at A Delightsome Life  for her Summer Series How do they do it . I will also answer any questions you may have on our garden then. I did try to remember any you asked previously-I seem to remember I promised this post awhile ago but who knew we would have endless summer days???  Did I mention I am a procrastinator? So, thank you again Kathy for motivating me to do it.

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
I enjoyed your bits and pieces around the garden. I like the pretty setting beside the lake and the double day lily....I didn't know you could get doubles.
Have a good day

I'll look forward to that guest post, Carolyn. I always wonder how you manage and how it's got to be a lot of work getting a garden to look this gorgeous. I just love your pictures. Everything you've shown looks great, so hopefully your other areas aren't too stressed.

Carolyn, you'd never know you were lacking rain by looking at your photos.

Oh my friend,
I picked the perfect day to come by and visit you. Your flowers are glorious. If there is any stress in your garden then I should hope to be so stressed. It is just beautiful my friend!
It's been a busy spring and summer and I have been a poor blogger and blog reader but I always come back to your garden and without fail I am restored.
Hugs

I can't wait.. I just can't wait!!

I've soo been looking forward to the post coming up!!!

I'm really surprised at your lack of rain up north.. seems like our weather has turned here as it feels like Wisconsin instead of NC.

warm hugs,

Hi Carolyn
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous garden...your dry summer is in stark contrast to the UK where we've had a deluge of rainfall since mid April! ....it's wonderful to see your vivid colour scheme!

Carolyn,

My Mother and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of your extraordinary gardens last week. They are as wonderful to wander through as your photographs depict them to be! Every corner looks like a painting! Thank you for sharing.
