New Cottage Cupboard!

Hello Everyone,
I hope you enjoyed your weekend and are ready for a whole new month! I would like to be able to slow time down a bit as summer is going by too fast for me.
A few weeks ago my husband built me a new corner cupboard in our little garden cottage mostly from scraps of wood that we already had.The top of the cupboard I had bought awhile ago and it adds a little decorative detail. We plan to add a door with chicken wire to it someday. Now, if you visit me often you know that I love china and often pick up pieces at yard sales or thrift shops so it is great to have another place to display them.

Cheap but pretty!

these are some of my favorites.

While you are here take a peek around the rest of the cottage.

Cottage at Christmas one year.
Last years Christmas Cottage.

Here you can see the corner before the cupboard was built.

I forgot to show you the pink version-if you are interested click here.
The outside of the garden cottage for those who have not seen it before.
Well, now you have seen not only my new cupboard but I have dragged you around the cottage again!

Today,I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday and also the house in the roses for show off your Cottage Monday.

Thank you for visiting me,

Carolyn

I think that this is my first visit to your blog. I love your cottage and think it would be a wonderful spot for summer nights of reading. My daughter would love it and contends that she was born way too soon. She is such a romantic soul that would have been so comfortable in the Victorian days.

I love love your cottage. Thanks for the tour. Good job on the cuboard. We never have enough cuboard space. I too buy all my dishes at thrift stores. I get such good buys I can't resist. I like especially the bed. I too have a pink netting over my bed.

Always love seeing your cottage. Reminds me so much of mine, with the same little stove, fireplace, chair. mine is only big enough for a day bed covered in pink shabby chic with tons of pillows. Yours is just gorgeous!

Dearest Carolyn,

That is a great job done by your 'handy-man'! Great for displaying your fabulous finds.
Also the tour around your town was lovely. During summer it is so nice in your area. But we must say goodbye now to July... It is fast going towards fall as already seven months are gone.

Lots of love,

What a clever hubs you have.

As a lover of all things blue with white spots, I really like the little bowl.

Everything looks so beautiful, as always. I think I need to see a pic of your compost heap. There must be SOMETHING on your premises that doesn't look graceful. :D

I love being dragged around your cottage! Such torture! lol. As always, it is a beautiful little place to escape.....like a little fairy tale cottage! Your corner cupboard really turned out nice and I love how you did some layering with the random china!~Hugs, Patti

Oh that cupboard came out so authentic looking. You have the best taste and instincts, and a husband who is game to fulfill your visions. Great combo! What color did you paint it~looks like a pale blue interior and a creamy white outside??

Your whole cottage makes me swoon. I love how the new piece holds china pieces that add to the whole look of the cottage.

Knock, knock. It's me. I'm at your door. I just can't help myself, I MUST come for a visit. I promise to clean up after myself and even help you deadhead that perfectly fabulous garden. Next time I go to the dentist, I'm going to mentally visit you. (You know....going to your "happy place" and all...) Lovely beyond belief.

Oh your husband is so handy! What a beautiful cupboard he made.
I love all the displayed china inside too.
That photo of the outside of the cottage looks like a magazine!
What an enchanting place!!

hi Amy,
Thank you for the kind words!I agree I am blessed to have a hubby who is willing and able to do these things for me. The shelves are painted a white, I think it was snowdrift or something. The back part is the wood plank walls with just a light undercoat of paint so they look whitewashed.

Thank you to all who have left sweet comments-I have read the ones to my hubby that gave him praise-He wants to know where you live Ha!Ha!-guess,I don't give him enough praise!!!

Oh Carolyn, your husband did a fabulous job on the corner cabinet. Wherever did you find that top piece? It is perfect.

While pink is my absolute favorite color, I still think I prefer the white version of the lovely little cottage. Take care and thanks for sharing all your super photos. Susan

Good Morning Carolyn!
What a sweet sweet cottage you have....I love the outside as much as the inside. I've always loved shingles and would love to put them on our little cottage here in Kansas but I think unless they were manufactured the wind would blow them off! I hope you have a lovely day.
