Touring Anne of Green Gables Land

Today I thought you might like to join me on a tour of Anne's land. I am assuming that, like me you have read Lucy Maud Montgromery's book Anne of Green Gables or have seen the movie. Now I know many of you are Anne fans and indeed many of you have come to Prince Edward Island because of falling in love with Anne's land. So, last week my hushband and I went for a drive to Cavendish and we went to see Green Gables while we were there.
So come on in and we can take a tour together.
First we will take a look around outside.
There are some lovely gardens to enjoy from the stone bench. The barn in the background is newer but made to look old.

I love the geranium's blooming in the window with the green shutters.

Green Gables side view.

A closer look at the barns.

Now let's go inside for a look around.

This is the parlour.

The dining room
pantry-oh! I love that blue and white platter
the sewing, spinning etc. room
Now we are upstairs in Anne's room -can't you just picture a little girl with red hair in here.
This is Mathew's room

Now this is the end of our tour of Green Gables.
Lucy Maude Montgomery

There is lots of farm land in Cavendish
We went to Cavendish beach
It was high tide there-don't you love the red cliffs?
The sun setting was beautiful!

I hope you enjoyed taking a tour of Anne's land with me.
Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

I have most definitely read the Anne series of books and also watched the tv shows. In fact, part of one show was filmed close to where I live. I certainly enjoyed the tour. What gorgeous scenery you also showed.

It would be a dream come true to see Anne's land in person. I watch the movie sometimes just to enjoy the view of Green Gables. It was so fun to see the inside and to see Anne's sweet room. The house is lovely. The wallpapered rooms are just what one would expect.
Thank you so much for taking me along.
Hugs,
June

I did not know that Green Gables was inspired by an actual house that's still standing. Beautiful!

It's so beautiful, and so beautifully preserved and presented. Thank you!

Hi Carolyn! Oh, I would love to go there! My daughter and son-in-law went exactly there on their honeymoon. She brought me a little fridge magnet - a cute cow in pigtails! She said everything had pigtails! Thanks for sharing in my joyness!
Be a sweetie,

I have been to PE as a child, but it was before I had ever read the story. It was back in the early 60's. I am wondering how much of the Island has changed? I remember the Ferry Ride over and my Dad treating me to some yummy bran muffins. It seemed like such an adventure. We camped on the Island and drove around it--I remember the farm areas looking like a patch-work quilt.

Thank you so much for giving us the tour! I love LM Montgomery, I own many of her books and I think I have read most all of them. Although I do keep finding more at used book stores that I haven't read. I also have many of her stories on my MP player. Can you tell that I'm a fan?

Hugs, Cindy S.

Such exquisite photos!!!
I have such fond memeories of Anne & I curled up under the willow trees by the creek (no joke) on our neighbors farm right outside Hagerstown, MD back in the lates
70s. There even was a mass of honeysuckle all over. I imagined Anne so many times in the fields with me.
Gratitiude of the tour & refreshing my memories.....
