Hammock Days

Hello everyone,

I am back today with a hammock theme.

I love winter shots of our hammock
as much as the summer ones.

I am not sure about you.....maybe you
only enjoy summer hammocks.

A good place to enjoy the beauty
of the garden.

Well, that is all my hammock shots for today.

Thank you for visiting,

A Touch of the Blues

Hello everyone,

As some of you probably know
I am a fan of blue and white so
that is my theme for today.

A chintz tea set with blue hydrangeas
in a flow blue pitcher that belonged to
my grandparents.

A closer look at my flow blue
pictures that were a wedding
gift to my grandparents.

A little bit of  Dutch with an
antique blue and white pitcher.

Some blue and white thrift finds.

I love this pretty blue and white
tablecloth.

A  corner in our cottage....good
for curling up with a book.

We have had this chaise for several
years. I recovered the cushions recently
but would love to paint the chaise white.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the
best way to paint this so that it doesn't chip?
The arms on it are especially shiny so I think
they will need some sanding and then I wondered
about using chalk paint on it.....unless anyone
has a better idea?

My thoughts and prayers are with all who
suffered such loss and devastation from
Hurricane Ida. I can't imagine all the
destruction and sadly even loss of life.
Also for those in western Canada and
the western parts of U.S who are also
suffering such damage and loss from
wildfires.

Take good care and thanks
for visiting.

Carolyn

Red Plaid Winter Hammock

Sunday Blessings,

It is a snowy wintry day here as another
winter system passes over the Island.

It was still nice out for a walk earlier
in the day and when I came back
I thought it was another pretty day
for another hammock photo shoot~
this time using a red plaid theme.

I think when the snow stops later today
those old snowshoes might be fun to use.

A plaid thermos and an enamelware mug
with hand knit mitts should warm things up.

This old hammock has been here for years
and the hooks have actually grown into the
tree, so it is now permanent!

Well, it is time for me to warm up
by the fire with my hot cup of tea.

Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday!

                                                                                                 Carolyn

A Winter Hammock Day

           Hello everyone,

Well, we did get quite a bit of snow here
a couple of days ago so it
is a winter wonderland now for sure.

I mentioned in my last post that I
wanted to do a quick photo shoot
of my outdoor hammock.
So, a couple of throws and
a few pillows and my old pair
of skates and I was good to go.

The trees were laden and there was a good
cover of snow in the woods.

I am loving our winter here this
year as we can still enjoy long
walks outdoors in the fresh air
without getting too cold.
My husband and I have had a
goal to walk 10,000 steps
a day as a healthy choice for
a couple of years now.

Now, I don't think I will nap out
here anytime soon but I did enjoy
my little photo shoot in the snow.

                                                                              Thank you for visiting!

                                                                                                       Carolyn

Seaside Hammock Days

Happy Friday!

We had some lovely summer days here at Ocean Song Cottage
this week and so it was a good time to relax with a good book
and enjoy some hammock time while listening to the waves lap
on the beach.

A pretty bouquet of peonies , a glass of lemonade
and my book and I am set for a relaxing afternoon
                                                                     at the cottage.

Pretty pillows and a blue throw make the hammock
comfy and cosy.

On another note  this beautiful bouquet is just a reminder of
our 'Open Garden' this Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m
The peonies are still blooming and I am hoping they can
hold out until at least Sunday!
I did get out of the hammock and do some weeding
in the garden for you!

Take care,
Carolyn

The Beauty of Winter

                                                               Hello everyone,

Yesterday it snowed pretty much all
day and created a beautiful winter
                                                wonderland. The sun was shining
on the sparking white snow and the
trees had a lovely white coat as well.
So, I was happy to grab my camera
and get out to enjoy the beauty.
I brought out a warm throw and
a few pillows for the old hammock
in the garden in case you wanted to
take a few moments to relax and enjoy
                                               the beauty of winter.

I love when we get snow and no
wind so all the tress are covered.

                                                        Our little Boathouse in winter

The snow was gently falling from the
tree where I was standing giving a
                                                  little snowy effect.

This shot was taken in early winter but
it is one of my favorites so I included
                                                 it again.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend
and thanks for visiting me on this beautiful
winter day here on Prince Edward Island.

                                                                                Take care.
