Rainy Day Blues

Hello everyone,

It was a rainy day here at Ocean Song
Cottage today so I enjoyed making
some scones for tea.

Ocean Song Cottage

It was a blue tea time today.

I got the teapot in Maine on
our trip.

I was able to find some pretty
blue and white china for my
collection here at the cottage.

I think it is time to curl up
with a book now and listen
to the rain coming down
and watering the garden for us.

I made rhubarb cordial today for
our upcoming garden tea next
Saturday. Yesterday, we painted
the porch floor and some of our
chairs. We are starting to get our
tables gathered up and Barbara and
I are looking forward to setting up
the tables to get the best use of space.

I will take some photos of the porch,
food, china etc. to share soon.

Hope you enjoyed my rainy day blues!

Thanks for visiting,

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
So happy for you and Barbara. Preparing for a tea party is one of my favorite things to do. I wish I could attend your party. The blue and white dishes are beautiful in your cottage by the sea.
Thank you for sharing,
Betty

I did enjoy your post; the pictures are so perfect that I could not tell that it was raining. Did you find your teapot at a thrift store or did you find it in a gift shop? I live in Maine and have never found anything so lovely.

Dearest Carolyn,
May your days soon be sunny and bright!
Did enjoy some lovely and sunny, warm weather in Limburg, The Netherlands and got home yesterday.
Emotional for breaking up with family and friends...
But the treasures inside my heart and some in my suitcases will last for the duration of my life.
Wish I could share a tea and a scone with you in that lovely blue and white china!
Hugs,
Mariette

Tea and scones - two of my favorite things. The most amazing scones I ever tasted were while I was onboard the Queen Elizabeth II - I will never forget them, and have never found anything that comes close to them here in the US. Your blue and white china is just charming, Carolyn. I especially love the piece with the rabbit lid.
