Hello everyone,
I hope you are all doing well.
It has been almost three weeks
since I posted.....just being a bit
lazy.
Even though our weather has been
colder here the last couple of weeks
I know garden season will be here
sooner or later so I am doing a little
garden dreaming here while I wait
for the garden to return.
Early June brings romantic beauty
to our enclosed garden as the
Deutiza shrubs come into bloom.
Lilacs are one of my favorites.
Our Allee garden in June.
Teatime in the garden.
The roses are in bloom.
Delphiniums are another favorite.....they
are so showy!
Another garden room with
roses and delphiniums.
This garden comes off the allee garden,
heading toward the pond and Boathouse.
A little garden shed adds color all
year.
The Gardener's Cottage is nestled into
the garden .
The enclosed garden again.
This garden is by the house entry and
has a picket fence and two arbors.....
to go into and out of this garden.
Clematis is another favorite.
Here on Prince Edward Island lupins
grow wild but I also enjoy
them in our garden.
Peony season is my favorite time
in the garden.We have well over
one hundred of them!
Who doesn't love peonies?
I love foggy/misty mornings in the
garden.
And who doesn't look forward to
colorful early spring color?
This is an old photo that I took
early in my blogging days when
I was much more ambitious!
Alliums are so pretty and I love that they bloom when
there seems to be a little lull in the garden after the
spring bulbs but just before the big peony show..
They do love to spread too so before long there
are lots of them to enjoy.

So many gorgeous photos and the delphiniums you had were amazing. Well, your whole garden of course is amazing but we all have "certain favorites" and those were incredible. The one photo with peonies in the forefront and the table in the distance is so lovely.

I was wondering if your property has always looked this way or do you have photos of how it all began ... it is always inspiring to see what can be done with imagination and hard work and a dream!
Thank you! There was no garden here at all when we bought the property 46 years ago.

Here in Pittsburgh spring is several weeks away. I live in an apartment and have no garden of my own. Looking at your lovely photos has given me much pleasure for a very long time.
But I think our love of transferware is how I found you.
The garden today was a joy.
Oh how lovely Carolyn, such a well needed breath of sunny days ahead! I could move right into your gardener's cottage, perhaps you could show a few shots inside? I know you have in the past but I don't know that I remember it from the boat cottage! So many beautiful spaces! Thanks again for the sunshine!

Your gardens are absolutely gorgeous!! Alas...as a northerner now living in South Carolina, I miss having lilacs and hollyhocks. It's much too hot here for them to survive or grow properly. But I do have(during the southern "winter") violas/pansies growing in my planters on my front porch! I put them in December 24th and they'll survive until about May when I'll have to remove them and put in hot weather flowers instead. There are some perks to living in SC when you are able to have flowers year-round outdoors.
Oh it's just so stunning! I bet walking through there just smells heavenly! I can almost smell it as I look at the photos... and that lush green grass is wonderful! Everything you grow is a favorite to me! I love lupin and peonies and delphinium and... and... and.... love it all!

Astonishingly beautiful. You truly have a gift for bringing beauty to the world. Thank you for sharing these luscious images with us in the bleak of March when the landscape is rather devoid of colour. Here in southern Ontario we don't even have snow, so I just see brown grass and empty garden beds when I look out the window.

Yes, I am dreaming of gardening also. My roses are starting to show green leaves, and the peonies are starting to pop up out of the ground. I love the first May bloom of our Northern California garden. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful garden. There is so much inspiration in your garden.
