Christmas in the Boathouse Favorites

I hope you are enjoying your weekend
so far. It is a cold windy day here with
a few snowflakes coming down. It is
hard to believe that just a few weeks
we were walking on our beach in a
light sweater and today it is a hat ,coat
                                               and mittens kind of day.
I have been decorating our house
for the season and will share photos of
                                               it soon.
As, I was daydreaming about how I
might decorate our little Boathouse this
year I went back to see some pics from
previous years and thought you might
enjoy seeing some of my favorites.

The little nook is one of my
favorite spots.

This reminds me of an English
country Christmas.This is the
other side of the room from the nook.

I think this is probably my favorite
shot of all. It was one of our
first real snowfalls of the year
but the pond hadn't froze over yet,
so you get a pretty reflection in the
water.
Quite often the pond is froze over before
we get a pretty snowfall .

I have to say I do love a beautiful
snowy winter day!

This is winter shot of the Boathouse
from a few years ago.

In case you don't already know my
husband and son built the Boathouse
about seven years ago using as much
recycled material as possible.
It is a short walk through the garden
from the house to our little at
home getaway cottage.

So, what about you have you
started to decorate for the
season yet?

Thank you for visiting!

Carolyn

Hi CAROLYN! I haven't started Christmas decorating yet, but as soon as we finish THANKSGIVING away I will hopefully go. I've been thinking about what I'm going to do.

Your Boathouse is extremely cute!!! I'd like to copy the dangling pinecones in the windows. Really cute.
Blessings to you this season and always.

How utterly charming! The red and white are beautiful and you surely have a gift for putting things together. I love the beauty of a snowy day too but not feeling chilly parts.

Dear Carolyn,
I am on your blog for the first time today, but I like it so much that I immediately added it to my reading list. Your beautiful photos inspire me to finally start seriously with my Christmas decoration. =)In any case, I will use the coming cold days to calmly look at your older posts.
Warm greetings from Germany!

Carolyn... it's all wonderful and charming and magical! I love all the white on white with the touches of red.. and the greens. Oh my! I covet that boathouse! What a wonderful getaway that would be, reading in that little nook, looking out at the snow. Sigh........... We haven't had snow yet. I'm not decorating for Thanksgiving at all as we are going to visit my son. When I get back, on Nov 30th, then the Christmas decorating begins. I'm more in the mood this year than I have been for the last couple of years.. so am anxious to get the tree up. I "almost" (but not quite) thought of getting a real tree this year, but probably won't. Too expensive, and no woods around here to tromp around in and find a tree. It's the only time of year that I really LOVE red! Have a nice Thanksgiving! Marilyn
