It's Lilac Time !

          Hi everyone,

I hope you are enjoying  this
first weekend of summer.

Our lilacs are in full bloom now
and I am enjoying lots
of bouquets.

We  have several different varieties
in different colors..I have forgotten
the name of these pink ones but they
make a lovely addition to my tea time.

They are all very fragrant no matter
which variety.

This vintage cocoa pot
makes a perfect vase
for lilacs.

It is a much better year for lilacs
this year then last summer.
You can see the common lilac in
the background from my husband's
grandmother's homestead is loaded
with blooms.

With lilac season soon coming to a
close the peonies are getting ready
to put on their show next.

I hope you enjoy the rest of
your weekend and thank you
for taking the time to visit me.

Take care,
Carolyn

Your lilacs are beautiful, so are the containers they are displayed in. I just imagine my coffee would taste delightful in one of you TEA cups. I will be waiting for the peonies. Your garden is always breathtaking....so lovely.

Oh Carolyn,

I am almost glad your blooms are behind me by quite a long time - because it's been raining and cold and now I am reliving the beauty of springtime all over again. Seriously neat that not only the common lilacs stunning- but the fact they're a family heirloom makes it even more special.

Thanks for sharing - I can almost smell their lovely scent from here in mid Ohio! Looking forward to your peonies. Mine aren't getting enough sun now the trees have grown - hardly got any blooms - or a bunch but they didn't open.

Hugs.

So lovely....I love the little crochet motifs too. Our lilac season ended what seems ages ago and the peonies just finished. We've had an enormous amount of rain in the Midwest USA but I finally got most everything dug up and planted. What didn't get done will have to wait until next year-just a few pieces of lawn I wanted to remove and make into flower beds. The important things to plant was tomatoes and flowers that the hummingbirds visit throughout the summer.

My favorite right next to peonies! I picked up a copy of Cottage Style magazine and took a stroll through your beautiful gardens. Congratulations and I hope all is well with you. I have been a pitiful blogger but seeing pictures of your home and gardens made me return to my blog and look for you. Thank you for sharing all the beauty of springtime with us. Hugs
