Happy Weekend

Happy Weekend!

I know we are moving into October tomorrow but
the weather has been lovely here this month so we
are enjoying some rest and relaxation at our little
seaside cottage this weekend.

White wicker chairs to relax in
and enjoy a cup of tea.

I got this shelf at the thrift store and
painted it white. It fits perfectly between
two windows and holds some blue and
                                                                white tea things.
I got this enamalware tea set
at the 70 mile yard sale last
weekend.

                                                                You can never have too
                                                                 many teapots.....can you?

As you probably noticed the color
theme for our cottage is blue & white.

I hope you don't mind that I seem to be
behind the times here with my summery
post but I couldn't resist sharing these
                                                          photos that I took today.

I actually enjoyed doing some Fall decorating
at home and should have some more seasonal
                                                          shots to share soon.

I hope you have a Happy Weekend!

Fall Favs

Hello everyone,

We are still enjoying warm temperatures here
but I noticed on a drive through the country
yesterday that the leaves are starting to take
on their fall colors.
I was thinking of some of my favorite fall
vignettes in our garden from previuos
years and thought you might enjoy
seeing them as well.

So, grab a glass of hot spiced apple
cider and enjoy some fall color.

My husband built this fence and gate several
years ago and it makes a nice backdrop
for a cozy autumn setting.

                                                                      A colorful autumn bouquet.

I added some Autumn touches to
the nook in our Boathouse.

An Autumn picnic by the pond.

An early Fall lunch in the garden.

A Fall Tea on the balcony.

                                                                     An Autumn vignette behind the
                                                                     Boathouse.

                                                                        Autumn on our porch.

I am trying to get myself motivated to let go of summer
and move into Fall......what about you are you embracing
                                                     Fall yet?

                                                                           Thank you for stopping by!

Garden Bounty

   Hello everyone,

With summer coming to a close there
is still lots of beauty to be had in the
garden.

A little garden vignette with
my garden fairy reading her
book among the roses.

I love these easy care Knock out roses
as they put on a couple of good shows
in the season with a few blooms all
                                                                summer.

I planted a few dahlias in the garden
for bouquets.

                                                                    Limelight Hydrangeas are loaded with
                                                                    blooms.

We have some grapes growing
in our garden.....a gift from
our son.

Cosmo's are the only annual that
I grow in our garden. They are a
great filler in a new bed and add
cottage charm right up until a
                                                                hard frost.

Annebelle hydrangeas also have a
long season of interest and are easy
to grow.
                                                   The Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangea
is covered in blooms still.....love them!

Well, summer is offically over but the weather
is still quite summery here and I am loving it!
However, I do enjoy the beauty of Autumn as
well...it just takes me a little longer to get into
                                                              the swing of things.

One of my favorite days in autumn is coming up
on Saturday though as it is the annual 70 Mile Coastal
Yard Sale and the weatherman is promising warm sunshine!

                                                                                          Happy Autumn!

Transferware Lunch in the September Garden

Hello everyone!

I hope your weekend is going well.
Although we still have lovely days in
September there is signs of approaching
autumn so it is nice to enjoy these sunny
but cooler days in the garden as much as
possible.

So, I thought I would share one of my
favorite tablescapes from a couple
of years ago in our September garden.

I have always loved variations of the
Cabbage Rose pattern and have collected
bits and pieces over the years.
My friend Snow and I had fun setting
the table out under the old apple trees
in our garden where it was nice and
shady on a perfect September day.
We layered the table with linens and lace.

A bouquet of flowers from our garden
and my red and white transferware were
                                                           used.
We had a great harvest of cherry tomatoes.

You can see our Gardener's Cottage in
                                                               the background.

                                                                 Some fresh rustic bread

It was a beautiful day to enjoy a
late summer lunch in the garden.
If you would like to see some of
                                                          my favorite summer garden tablescapes
                                                         you can click Here.

My thoughts and prayers are with
all of you who are effected by the
Hurricanes and hope you will all
                                                          be safe.

                                                                          Thank you for visiting,

                                                                                         Carolyn
