Summer Time Pleasures

                                                                            Hello everyone,

                                                         I have been somewhat remiss in posting lately
                                                         but summer is going by so fast that I want to
                                                         be out enjoying it as much as possible.

                                                               So, picnics by the sea and just
                                                               enjoying watching the sailboats
                                                               around the harbour is a summer
                                                               time pleasure here on the Island.
                                                           

                                                                       Of course, I enjoy spending time in
                                                                       our garden.

                                                                   Spending time with our grandchildren
                                                                   at the beach or at home is always fun.

                                                                               

                 Spending time with friends is

always a fun time!

        Enjoying the beauty!

                               I love to eat outdoors all summer.

                                                                   Relaxing in the Boathouse is also
                                                                   high on my list.

This summer I enjoyed spending

time with my friend Sharon as she

was getting her lovely heritage home

Ginger Beer Cottage

ready for rent either by room or the

entire home on Airbnb.

It is right downtown and walking

distance to all amenities.

                                                       Sharon is a collector of all things
                                                       shabby chic so it was fun to see
                                                       the rooms come together.
                                         

         Relaxing at home is always

a good thing!

                                                   We also enjoyed beautiful sunsets around
                                                              the Island.

                                                              So just a little sample of some of my
                                                              Summer Time Pleasures.

A Closet Full of Lace

                                                                                  Hello everyone,

                                                                   Summer is slipping by so quickly
                                                                   and before we know it we will be
                                                                   digging out our warm sweaters for
                                                                   those cool evenings.
                                                                       So, before summer ends I thought
                                                                    I would share my lace addiction.

                              It seems I have a closet full of lace

     in various shades .

                          Since my closet is darker I have

                                          displayed them in our Gardener's Cottage

         for my photo shoot.

                                                           It seems I can't pass by lace.

                                                                        A vintage ironing board holds
                                                                        lace and linens.

                                                                           When I am not in my old
                                                                            gardening clothes I enjoy
                                                                            wearing lace dresses,skirts
                                                                            tops or scarfs.

New Touches in The Gardener's Cottage

                                                                     Happy Monday!

                                                      It is another beautiful day here today
                                                      and the garden has perked up after a
                                                      heavy rain or two last week.

                                                     

                                                              I was excited to find this old vintage quilt a few
                                                              weeks ago at a thrift store and I think it is perfect
                                                              for The Gardener's Cottage.

I added some of my transferware to

the corner cupboard in here as well.

Tea is waiting.

                                                   I treasure this beautiful watercolor painting of The
                                                   Gardener's Cottage
                                                   done by a young American artist who reads my blog.
                                                   She gifted me with it when she came to visit ~ she used a photo
                                                   from my blog.Thank you so much Julie!

Pretty Pinks

                                                                                 Hello everyone,

                                                               I hope your week is going well.

                                                               We got some much needed rain here
                                                               today. The sun returns tomorrow
                                                               though, in time for my Japanese visitors.

                                                                     A few days ago I picked some roses
                                                             from the garden and enjoyed taking a few pics
                                                             to share with you.
                                           

                                                                           You probably know that I
                                                                           love vintage tea cups.

                                                                            Soft and pretty.

               Afternoon tea tray.
