French Garden Blues

                                                                                Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a good week.
It is going by quickly here and I have
been busy in the garden .
I thought you might enjoy seeing some
of what I think of as French Blue.
Last year I wanted to add a pop or two of
color in the garden so I painted the arbor
seen here and the old iron stove on the right
                                                                was already blue.
A couple of chairs for the garden
also got hit with the blues.

This shed is in our Chelsea Garden.
I have planted vines to climb over
it but they seem a little slow in getting
                                                                            up there...hopefully this year.
The blue door on our Boathouse
and my wooden shoes add color.
This arbor was dark moss green before and it blended
into the garden which I liked for about 10 years but
I must be getting more adventurous as I am loving a
bolder pop of color!

My French Blue garden chairs
match the shutters in this
little garden.I forgot to show
you those....next time!

                                                                            Tea in the garden.

Spode blue tea cups.

The iron trellis got a coat of paint a
couple of years ago......I was
starting to get a bit adventurous
back then!

A pink Fairy rose was planted in the
cast iron blue stove adds interest.

Do you have a favorite color you like
                                                                   to put in your garden?

                                                                     Thank you for visiting,

                                                                                  Carolyn

I've always liked pops of colour in the garden and although most of mine is shades of purple, I started adding aqua with it a couple of years ago.
I do like your trellis better in the blue and the accessories you add with pillows and throws for more colour and patterns.

What a lovely shade of blue! My front door is painted a color very close to this one. It looks very pretty in your gardens. And your tea vignette is beautiful -- thanks for sharing it with us! -Beth

I throughly enjoyed looking at all your pictures. That blue on the arbor is fabulous. I seem to be adding yellow to my garden presently. It all started with a yellow bird bath last year but I am also adding some blue. I love that color of blue you put on the arbor. Is it a paint color you can share brand/color name?

Carolyn, your garden is so full of creativity as well as plants. Your garden is what I think most people envision in their mind for their own garden. When I saw your latest post, it has inspired me to go outside right after I finish writing this and get to work! Because, although your garden is perfection to many of us, it didn't get there without many hours of digging and building and painting. Viewing it is easy, the hard work was real. Thank you for inspiring me to greater things in my own garden. I don't hope to copy your design, but rather follow the dreams in my mind. You have given me the push out the door to create my own place of beauty. Thanks again!

Love the color in your garden - the blue looks wonderful. All of my structures, fences and furniture are painted white, but I am tired of it and ready to take the plunge and add some color too.

I am still dreaming of my cottage garden! the house we just moved to last Fall is a blank slate... NOTHING was here but weeds and dirt! I have been following you for a couple of years and your gardens are what I dream of... I love the blue you used... kind of a grayish blue and not too bright... I kept thinking I wanted things to be shabby white, but seeing the colors of the blues makes me wonder now what I do want. I guess it will come as I start adding more flowers and goodies (that I find at thrift stores and yard sales). It's kind of hard to start from scratch and I'm having trouble picturing in my mind what I want! Just looking at your wonderful gardens and little cubbies here and there really inspires me!
