Happy Weekend!
Now that autumn is in full swing I decided
to give my favorite little reading nook in the
Boathouse a warm and cozy look and feel for
these cooler days.
So I dug out my muted brown curtains and
lined the side panel with cream crochet lace curtain
panel. I love the wool blanket so warm and cozy.
My autumn teacup with a honey crisp apple
and a good book is all I need to relax and
enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
I picked a lovely autumn bouquet
from the garden to admire.
An Autumn wreath on the window
and some lighted candles.
The antique needlework pillow
was a yard sale find.
The lace bed skirt was also a curtain panel.
When the sun isn't shining to warm it
up a little a small heater does the job.
be relaxing on these lovely autumn days.

I am joining The Rose Garden in Malevik
for Show off Saturday.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Just lovely. I'm glad this is at your house and not mine because if it was mine I would be fired from my job. It's so beautiful I'd never leave.

Simple luxury. Divine!
ReplyDeleteI love it! The colours and muted beiges and browns along with pops of colour are perfect. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful this spot looks, Carolyn! I would really enjoy laying here reading with that cozy throw on top of me. I could also see taking a quick doze while reading. : ) Those curtains are beautiful. I know you find such wonderful curtains at thrift stores and I wouldn't be surprised if you told us these came from one, too.
ReplyDeleteHow would one ever get out of that cozy nook area to do anything else? I think I could read an entire series of books and be perfectly happy - long as someone brought me a hot cuppa now and then. : - )
ReplyDeleteWarm and wonderful, Carolyn - love your flowers too for that fresh burst of colour!
Carolyn, I adore your nook. The plaid wool blanket paired with the lace is a delightful combination. The colors, the textures. . .all of it is wonderful. And those gorgeous flowers! Love it all. ~ Nancy
