Comfort Food

                                                                     Yesterday, the weather turned cooler
here so it was a good day to be indoors
doing a little cooking and baking etc.
A bowl of homemade vegetable beef
soup on a cool autumn day tastes so good.

I tried a new bread recipe to go with it this time
~ whole grain Irish Soda Bread. It was very
good hot out of the oven.

For our tea time treat I made a
                                                                 delicious loaf of Orange Pumpkin
Bread. I have to say our kitchen
                                                                 smelled so good!

                                                   Candles for our tea time.

                                                      My autumn transferware china
Our table set for tea in the bay window.

I have included the recipe if any of you would
like to make it......it is easy and delicious!

I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for
                                     Tablescape Thursday today.
also, joining Rattlebridge Farm for Foodie Friday.

                                                   Thank you for visiting,

                                                                         Carolyn

  12. It comforts me just looking at the food. I am making turkey soup today with stock from our Thanksgiving turkey. Even though we no longer live in Canada we still do Canadian thanksgiving!

  13. Thanks for the recipe, Carolyn. Both breads looks wonderful, as does your soup. I made beef stew recently, and plan to make chicken soup today. One of the things I love about the cooler weather is breaking out the comfort food recipes. Have a great weekend! ~ Nancy
