Shabby Chic Romantic Tea Room

                                                                           Hello everyone,
I hope you will join me for tea today
at my favorite tea room. It is in Mt.
Dora,Florida where we spent a couple of
days on our trip south. It was the first place
we headed for when we rented our car.
It is called The Garden Gate tearoom.

I think it has romance and
                                                             shabby chic down pat.
Every time we have gone to Florida we went for
lunch here. Not only does the setting delight me
but the food is amazing too.
Love how the mirror is decorated over the
mantle and even the chair get a romantic
                                         touch.

There are several vintage and antique dresses
                                                    on display.

A table of hats if you want to
                                          borrow one.

Everywhere you look inside there are treasures to enjoy.

                                                           Are you smitten yet?

                                                       Lots of pretty teapots.

Lots of  pretty tea cups as well.

Come on in and join me for tea!

As pretty as it is inside, the weather
was perfect and the garden area
charming so that is where we
choose to sit.

I smiled at a couple of ladies stopping
to tell me I was a real southern gal.
I told them I was from Canada but
they didn't hold that against me.(ha! ha!)
said there was a little southern in us
all! I do love that southern hospitality!
Later we enjoyed this lovely sunset from our front porch
at the Lakeside Inn.....life is good!!!!

Thank you for joining me today.
Carolyn

I am from the South, and you do act and look the part of a genteel Southern lady.

What a gorgeous place to take tea, Carolyn! I don't know if I'll get to Florida any time soon, but I will definitely keep this place in mind.

A wonderful place to have tea, outside and inside, love the style. So nice you wear a hat, in our country nobody wears hats nowadays but I love it.

Oh Carolyn,
Your tea house has left me swooning! I love the gorgeous cream china cabinet, sweet chairs and amazing china. How I would love to visit there too. What a beautifully shabby chic tea time you must have enjoyed. I must say you do look lovely in your bonnet. I have been to Daytona Beach, Florida many years ago with my sister and father for a music convention. Thank you for sharing such beauty! I love to visit your blogspot! Have a wonderful week!

I'm heading to Mt. Dora in June and this tea room is on my list. I can definitely see why you like it. Some of the photos look like they're taken in your home.

I live in Tampa, FL and have been to this tea room many times. You are so right it is the best! Not only is the atmosphere totally charming but the food is wonderful too...flavored teas, luscious desserts and what about that chicken pot pie with the fresh rosemary! I think I need to make a little trip to Mt. Dora!
