A Pop of Christmas Red

                                                                       Hello everyone,
I hope you all had  a good weekend. I have been busy getting our
home decorated for Christmas. It seems to be a job that takes me two
steps backwards before I move forward again. Dragging tubs of decorations
down from the attic and unpacking them before putting the empty tubs away
is a messy job but when I get the house all decorated I forget all that and
                              enjoy it all so much.
I am enjoying a little pop of color with winter berries mixed with fresh
                               greenery.

I got this vintage red enamel coffee pot at a thrift shop last year for a few
dollars and it looks so pretty with some greenery and berries.
love this vintage quilt, basket and old red chair.

Now it is time to relax and enjoy a cup of tea.

Hope you enjoyed a pop of Christmas red!

I am joining Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday.

                                                                  Thank you for visiting,

                                                                                             Carolyn

I love red at Christmas. It's such a traditional colour along with green. Sweet pictures and vignettes.

Oh, I LOVE that red tea kettle!!! And, I'd kill (well, not really) for that red lantern! Such a cheerful post! I hear you about mess making in order to decorate! Sigh. And, yes, it is certainly well worth all the effort in the end when you can finally sit back and enjoy it all the more...Glad to hear you and Andrew are doing well!
Hugs,

I love all that red! I was at an auction on Saturday and was outbid on that identical coffee pot. In the same lot were several pieces of white enamel with red trim and a little red teapot too.

A perfect cheery note Carolyn. And enamelware always has such a warm and cozy feel. Lovely!

You know, I love the soft colors you usually photograph probably as much as you do, but I DO love red too...don't understand such polar choices, which causes me lots of "who am I?/what do I like" LOL. Keeps things interesting. All this to say I loved this post. :) ~Zuni

I have a green enamel jug hiding away in the attic. I was going to give it to the charity shop because it doesn't go with any décor, but why haven't I thought about spraying it a different colour? It only occurred to me when I read this post. Thank you! xx

It's nice to see some true red at Christmas for a change! It looks lovely. I used to have a white jug like that that I actually used for a kettle on the stove. Alas, a hole grew in the bottom.

Your pop of red is wonderful. You found some lovely red things to mix -- the quilt, the red enamel coffee pot (what a great find), the berries and cedar, the polka dot mug (love polka dots), the wonderful candle. Christmas is definitely coming.

Good morning Carolyn,
Your pop of red is very cheery! Whenever I see a lantern I think of my father because he used to collect them. He would have loved your red one. Love the coffee pot and your winter berries. The polka dot mug and the toile candle are so pretty together. A lovely post for Tea Time and thank you for sharing it with us. Isn't the snow pretty this morning!

Blessings,
Sandi

Although I use little red or green for Christmas, I do like your pop of the colour. I guess it depends on the colours in your home, and I have always leaned to pastel hues.

This little red corner is beautiful Carolyn! I love every detail right down to the beautiful knitted liner in the tray!!! How pretty this is! The red enamel pot was such a great find. WOW...this almost makes me want to go right out to the shed and bring those heavy tubs in and get started myself. :)))
sending hugs your way...

I have too added red touches in particular to my kitchen. I really like your lantern. Red adds a touch of cheerfulness and sweetness to a space especially when paired with white.

I love the pop of red. It is so much work to decorate for Christmas. I love what you have done so far. The coffee pot is adorable.
