Gathering

                                                                 Good morning!

It is a beautiful sunny autumn day here again with the promise of a beautiful holiday weekend. We have several tours from Japan in the next few days before wrapping up our season and putting the garden to bed. Doesn't seem like yesterday we were looking forward to those first blooms.? Don't worry in no time we will be doing that again. It is definitely true that the older we get time goes by.

Anyway, it is the season to gather in some garden goodness to enjoy over the months ahead. I love to pick some of my hydrangeas to have indoors as they dry so nicely. Just put them in a vase with a couple of inches of water and leave them to dry while enjoying their beauty.

We have lots of hydrangeas in different shades.

Don't they look pretty in the vintage McCoy vases..
A little late blooming David phlox in with the hydrangea.

This fall blooming monkshood is just coming into bloom-love it's
late season color with the burning bushes , asters and sedums.
A late summer bouquet of wildflowers that I gathered on our morning walk a few weeks                       ago but didn't have a chance to share as I had computer issues.

And as a bonus for you today this basket of goodies- what could be sweeter than these two puppies?       They are Bernese Mountain puppies that came to visit with their sweet owner my friend Snow.

I am joining My Romantic Homes for Show & Tell Friday

Thank you for visiting,
Carolyn

Like very much your David phlox and dry hydrangeas are very interesting in an artist point of view. So many shades of pearly white, soft yellow/ green and light pink. Very inspiring.

Have a nice week.

Gorgeous hydrangea blooms! I have gathered a few myself and dry them the same way you do.
Snow's pups are sweet, but it looks like they plan to chew their way out of the basket. :-)
Happy Thanksgiving.

I thought the vases could not be beat until I saw the puppies.

The hydrangeas are beautiful, I love the mix of colours in them. I wish I had a little blue in mine, might just play with the soil PH next year to see.

Your wildflowers and pictures are beautiful, I noticed the lupin and wish there was still a bit over here.

Your little surprises in the basket are so cute.
