Hello everyone,
This year I planted some mauve gladiolas in the garden for late summer bouquets.
They are easy to grow and a bag of 35 was on sale for $2.
So I planted them in the vegetable garden. They are food for my soul! "If I had but two loaves of bread, I would sell one and buy hyacinths, for they would feed my soul." - Prophet Muhammad
I am sure gladiolas are almost as good- although they do lack the fragrance of hyacinths.
Hope your week is going well.
Thank you for visiting!
Carolyn

Oh how beautiful they are,I just so love mauve and I planted Gladi's last year too,but not mauve. they are just starting to show above the ground now as we are just heading into Spring.
I think you got a great bargain for $2. I paid more than that for 4
I must look out for some mauve one's :)
What beautiful gladioli, probably the prettiest colour I've seen.
Beautiful these mauve Gladiolas and you made again a magnificent decoration with them.
The speckled glads are gorgeous, I haven't grown them for years. With new colours like this, I should think about buying some bulbs myself.
Maybe it's the camera lighting, but they look more purple to me. Either way they are super lovely.
I have never seen mauve glads. They are stunning.
Well done, Carolyn- what a wonderful investment.
Now do these come up each year then? Remember I am a new/er gardener and just learning.
I should love to plant Gladiolas, as my sweet Mom's name was Gladys, and I called her Gladiola for years. She always smiled at that. She said it was much better than being teased by her sisters when young and called Happy Bottom (get it? ("Glad A_ _?") Mom said it was never right, because she was so skinny she didn't even HAVE a bottom to be happy!
I loved that lady.
Beautiful !!!
Those are beautiful - what a gorgeous colour.

How pretty your Glads are, Carolyn! Hubby planted some along the front of our house a couple of years ago but they don't stand up very well. The statue is really sweet. Hope you're having a lovely day.
Blessings,
Sandi
I love all the purple and I especially adore your cherub.

Lovely! Gladiolas are way under-utilized. Can't beat them for bouquets, and they're so easy to plant!
Just beautiful Carolyn! Your post makes me regret I got rid of the Gladioli bulbs last year.....
