Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Today, I thought you
might like to take a little tour of our garden. August is marching
right along so while there is lots of color in the garden, some plants
are showing signs of decline.Where does the time go???
We have lots of these Annabelle hydrangea in the garden as they
are easy to care for and put out suckers that can be severed and moved
around the garden-love free plants!
The hillside garden is a riot of color as it has a lot of daylillies.
And coneflowers.
We have hundreds of daylily blooms in various colors.
There are still some roses in bloom.
Blue Stockings Beebalm and phlox
I love clematis- this one is Jackmani Superba
I have forgotten the name of this one.
The bed along the road is in full bloom now.
We also have lots of different varieties of phlox.
The bed along the walkway to the door.
coneflowers in bloom
These double poppies reseed every year-abundantly!
Ville de lyon clematis
The bed along the driveway.
Hope you enjoyed the tour of our garden in August.
Thank you for visiting,
Carolyn

Carolyn, Somehow each season you manage to take my breath away but truly no season at Aiken Garden is as beautiful as the summer. Thank you for sharing.
Everything looks so lovely. It was an enjoyable post. Thanks for sharing
Your garden is absolutely gorgeous. Mine in August is really struggling with our heat and humidity. I have been trying to grow a couple of clematis but they are struggling as well. Our daylilies have bloomed out with the exception of a daylily that came from my great grandmothers garden which tells me, I need to stick with heirloom varieties of all plant material. They are most certainly the tried and true in our area. I always enjoy and get inspiration from seeing your garden in it's glory.

Just beautiful, Carolyn! I adore your hydrangeas! Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,

I simply love looking and reading your beautiful blog! Your gardens are just so gorgeous. We moved from southern Wisconsin with an acre and a third and had gardens we loved and thought were pretty-nothing compared to yours-to Texas and are struggling to make our very small gardens special here in this heat and drought. Looking at all your beauty is such a pleasure--Thank you so much for sharing your garden and home with us...
Absolutely breathtaking!

Your hillside garden full of day-lilies looks wonderful. The clematis you have forgotten the name of looks like my Nelly Moser.
Hi Carolyn,
This is Juliette from Istanbul-Turkey. I just came accross to your blog and soo excited to know you and your amazing garden. It makes me relax and happy. Thank you. I also noticed that I missed too much Canada where I've lived for a while...
Warm regards.
Juliette
This was again a lovely tour in your garden. August is the month of hot colours, amazing how many daylilies you have.
Your garden is breathtaking!
Love the colors in your Summer garden, Carolyn! Your hydrangeas are gorgeous. Lots of flowers I haven't seen before like those double poppies.
It's like it's out of a magazine....totally stunning!
Love it. Very beautiful. Jealous of all the phlox. Deer eat mine. Your arbors are gorgeous and I love all the garden art mixed in. What zone are you in that you are still getting poppies. Those are so pretty. I need some to come along after my early poppies and hide the dying foliage. Thanks for sharing all the beauty again and again.
The Annabelle hydrangeas are gorgeous and perfect to showcase the other bright colored flowers. I like very much the little touch of green/yellow of their heads.
You have a very beautiful collection of phlox and clematis. I had never seen a Blue Stockings Beebalm before yours. Surprising and so is the name ! I like it very much.
Thank you again to share your garden with us.

Good Afternoon Carolyn, You have the most beautiful garden, filled with such colour. I love the colour of the Beebalm, and like your previous comment, it is not a plant I am acquainted with, but I shall certainly be visiting our garden centre to find it.
As always, it is such a pleasure to visit you.
Best Wishes
Daphne
What a lovely blog you have!
Adore all the flowers, magnificent!
I'm peeking at different bloggers because I just started as a blogger myself. I'm dutch but I write also in english.

Wow, your garden is so gorgeous. Each and every bloom is breathtaking. Thanks for sharing your bit of heaven.
Hi Angela,
Thank you for your kind words. We live in a zone 5b garden and the poppies just appeared there all on their own , although I have had them in other parts of the garden for years.
Carolyn
You do have a beautiful garden full of colourful flowers.
