Hello everyone,
It is a beautiful evening here now but I am thankful for the good rain we had overnight as it has been hot and dry.
Today,I thought you might enjoy seeing my friend's collection of beautiful jadeite
dishes that she has been collecting and generously lent to me for a fun photo shoot out on our screened porch.
The vintage enamel teapot is from my own stash and the pretty salad
I picked from our veggie garden. We grow organically and besides being pretty
nasturtiums are edible!
The table is set for four so you can join us if you like.
The roses are David Austen Golden Celebration and the pale yellow ones in the bigger bouquet are The Pilgrim also a David Austen rose.
I hope you enjoyed a quick peek at my friend Snow's beautiful collection
of vintage jadeite dishes from the 1940's and 50's.Thank you, Snow for your generosity!
I have been busy with plans for the upcoming Downton Abbey Tea (tickets have all been sold) and I gathering up my prettiest china and planning the menu(so much inspiration on pinterest!) I think anticipation is half the fun!!!
Speaking of anticipation, my sister from Vancouver is coming to visit on Friday
after a month in the Netherlands visiting our cousins and touring around, so we will
have lots of catching up to do. I was delighted that she got to see the home where our mother grew up and it still looked the same as the picture we have of it from all those years ago- I have never been there yet but it is definitely on my bucket list!
I am joining BTNOP for Tablescape Thursday today - Home at Rose Chintz Cottage- and Home Sweet Home for the Charm of Home.
Also joining My Romantic Home for Show & Tell Friday.
Thank you for taking the time to visit me!

Carolyn, this is a gorgeous collection, and you have set the prettiest table using these pieces. The nasturtium salad has to be the most stunningly beautiful salad ever. Love the pops of color! Makes me want to grow nasturtiums just for this reason. ;-)
Oh, how I wish I could be at your tea! Look forward to lots of photos.
Carolyn I have never seen so much Jadeite in one collection... I love it!
The garden salad looks so pretty. Your guests are going to be so excited to attend your Downton Abbey Tea, I am envious! Enjoy your weekend.
Jadeite has such dignity...a noble everyman's pattern from an earlier time. The tablescape is beautiful. Love that teapot! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
Very interesting colour combinations.
Quite bold, but elegant
Hi Carolyn....That look very pretty, indeed. Didn't know you were from the Netherlands.
How wonderful your sister got to see the house where your Mama grew up.
I hope that item definitely gets crossed off your bucket list. Susan
Snow's Jadeite collection is lovely and your enamel teapot matches it well. Nasturtiums add a nice splash of colour to a salad, yours looks delicious.
I'm happy for you that your DA tea fundraiser is a sellout, it will be a lot of fun.

OOopps - I pushed the button to soon. Your table setting is really beautiful! These colors are so popular now and what a lovely salad!
This is one of the most appealing table settings I have ever seen. I love the way the bright nasturtiums in the salad look with the soft green jadeite! LOVE It!
I love Jadeite, and your friend's pieces make a beautiful table setting. Those nasturtiums and roses really set it off, too!

Beautiful tablescape. Lovely jadeite collection. Your friend has the perfect dishes for your screened porch. You have the perfect flowers to dress up the table.
That salad is also beautiful. I know nasturtiums are edible but I have never tasted one. I love your vintage vases and serving pieces.
Hope y'all ate the pretty salad.
Beautiful photography and gorgeous colours! Lovely space you got here.
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
Amazing, beautiful tablescapes, Oh, I can't even think of sitting down to all that beauty. It is great to be able to borrow. Your teapot is lovely. This is a great time of year to eat from the garden, I must say your salad is wonderful looking. I don't know that I've ever eaten nostalgia or nasturtium before. I have the seeds and well not excuses but never got the chance to put them in. We are cutting back each year so we can enjoy more the things we love, so maybe I'll be around more often. Thank you for your inspiration, Cindy
So very pretty, as always Carolyn!

Beautiful collection of Jadeite and your salad with the nasturtiums looks so nice with it, but will be delicous too. I also use sometimes nasturtiums in food. And by the way, funny your mother is from our country and you stll have relatives living here.
Snow's dishes are so pretty and your salad is really beautiful! How lovely that Pauline got to see your mother's childhood home. I am so happy for her. You two will have lots of catching up to do for sure. Thanks for joining me for HOME and have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Sandi
Wow, Carolyn! That green is SO soothing and pretty!! I'm not quite sure how to explain it - so very pretty! And the color of your beautiful salad just pops in such a pleasing and crisp way. A little piece of happy and refreshing hospitality in a frame. Thank you! =)
