Winter Wonderland

                                                          Hello everyone,
I woke up early this morning and took a peek out our window and was surprised to see we had a few inches of fresh snow fall over night. Now, I know you are are looking for spring but the reality of life on Prince Edward Island is that in March  we can still get quite a bit of snow. Our temperatures have been right around the freezing mark for the past week so sometimes it is hard to predict whether we will will get rain or snow.
Anyway, a fresh snow fall is an good opportunity to go for a short drive and take some photos.
I have always loved this house that is a few kilometers from our house.
These are city homes that look pretty with the snow.

                                                         A backyard shed.
A farm fence covered in snow.

Love tree lined winter driveways covered with untrodden snow.

I was wishing for Christmas wreaths on these lanterns or small Christmas trees at the base but alas not this year.
                                                  A city harbour lighthouse.

I like this shabby chic mailbox.
And back home to our own snow covered world.
                                    Our terrace covered with snow.
And lastly our Gardener's Cottage in winter.

The snow is already starting to melt some and they are promising sunny mild days for most of the week so don't worry spring is still on the way!

Hope you have a good day,

Carolyn

I'm glad you got out to take some pictures of the fresh snow to share with us. It does look pretty. We got the same here and I don't mind as it is melting on the bare spots and road. Enjoy the day!

Stunning winter wonderland shots! I love snow too, I even miss it, as there's none here all year round, except for the perennial Andean mountains snowed tops. I'm a NYorker, so yeah, I love snow too. Spring will be soon around your neck of the world soon, my friend. Hugs,
FABBY

It's so fresh and lovely!

Today our skies arre blue and bright and cloudless with the sun just a' shinin' down heavenly....still cold, but the snow is gone as of late morning.

I am ready for spring but really do love winter.

PEI is so gorgeous, you are lucky to live there. I do hope to see more of your island one day.

Thank you for showing us these beautiful snow pictures. Your really have lovely houses on Prince Edward Island. Nevertheless, I am glad spring has started over here in The Netherlands, at last nice sunny days and temperatures above zero. Started today pruning roses.

Gorgeous photos of your snow, Carolyn! You are a brave one out and driving around in it ~ and it looks like it was still coming down in some of your pictures! I am so done with Winter now. We are expecting some snow or mix by tomorrow morning and into Wednesday. Good news is it is supposed to hit 50 by Saturday so fingers crossed those temps start to stick around.

Dear Carolyn,

Like you we are looking forward to spring very much too, but I have to say that the snow makes all those old houses and the countryside look beautiful! We have a relatively warm week in Holland, with temperatures up to 15 degrees Celsius, but it will only be for a few days. Next week it will be -0 again.

Happy new week,

Madelief x

We all are awaiting spring, but sometimes we just need to be patient and appreciate winter's extreme beauty. Thanks for helping me remember this. Iowa winters can seem to go on forever as well. We are expecting 8" tonight. I'll have my camera ready.

Nancy

Hey, Carolyn!
How tall is that ladder Andrew's got? Maybe he could sneak those wreaths on the lamps for ya next season! Haha :-) All the snow looks beautiful. We have been fogged in here for the past four days, no flights leaving. It is what it is when you live on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I've been so busy lately, haven't had a chance to catch up but will soon, promise. Take care, my friend.

Oh my gosh that is so beautiful, so strange to think that in New Zealand right now were at the end or nearing the end of what has been the driest summer since 1940 here in Auckland. I wonder if this means a very cold winter for us. We don't get snow in Auckland, which is a shame as I remember living in England as a child and seeing scenes such as the images you have in todays post.

Your house surrounded by snow is truly a picture post card image.

Thank you for sharing a part of your world.

Lee :)

It is the same in Sweden. Mars is a very uncertain month for us. Sometimes really warm and sunny but then it can be snow and below 0. Even though spring has come, it's lovely to see this winter wonderland. So pretty...

Hey. Just wonderful pictures of a snow-covered landscape. I live in Finland and there is also a lot of snow and rain being more. It is nice to visit the blog and see how the same, for example flowers you will grow as we do. Happy spring waiting there for you.

What wonderful snow covered houses! THanks for the neighborhood tour. Now down here in the south, if we had such a snow, there would be no driving about! But I know it's second nature to you way up north. :-)

I too love the grandness and beauty of freshly fallen snow. Your photos are great and I enjoyed each one!

Beautiful pictures. The houses remind me of Connecticut.....
I always thought you would have harsher winters, but it looks like ours here. Getting more snow tomorrow.
Enjoy this beauty while it lasts.

Absolutely charming photos, Carolyn. I would not mind snow if it all looked as pretty as this!

Our snowdrops and first narcissus are up, the hellebores are in full bloom and in a week or so it will be an explosion of color.

Wishing you a week with lots of signs of spring.

Hello, the photos of snowy white are so wonderful, but I hope that springtime is not far away now.
I think we all need the light after this long dark winter.
