Friendly Village

Hello everyone,
Yesterday,I started to a little pre Christmas decorating just so I can enjoy the process in a more leisurely manner.

One of the displays I always enjoy is my collection of The Friendly Village and similar dishes put back up in the cabinet for the season. I had blue and white transferware in here before.

This 3 tiered plate was a Christmas gift from my good friend Heather a few years ago..
This platter was one I found at Coulson's in Summerside. I haven't seen a lot of platters like this so it was a good find for me.
I love the nice winter scene on these plates.

                                     Friendly Village teacup.

Just a couple of photos from last year using my Friendly Village .

I made these two pillows for my daughter this week and she was happy to get them.

Well, just a peek at some early Christmas/winter decorating. I have all kinds of ideas for things I would like to do so I better get busy!

If you would like to see an old post of mine( before I got my Canon Rebel camera) with these dishes used in a romantic fireside dinner for Winter Solstice click here and if you would like to see what it looked like a couple of days ago with blue and white transferware go here.

Today I am joining The Rose Garden in Malevik for Show Off Saturday.

Happy weekend!
Carolyn

Oh, Carolyn
Everything is soo beautiful. I have hard to bypass collecting Friendly Village because it is popular and as such a little more pricy. It is difficult because I watch on ebay for Johnson Bros. Harvest Time, which is often mixed and matched with Friendly Village, and so it is always there to tempt me! Yours looks so lovely displayed with little christmas what-nots. I really like the white cup and saucer with the generous border of holly leaves and berries.
Thanks for getting us off to a good start going into the holiday season!

Loved seeing your friendly village. My Mom has a huge collection of it and we used them every Christmas. My Mom doesn't do Christmas dinner any more so I haven't seen them all out like this and it took me back seeing your's. How I miss a table full of it with all the Christmas goodies on it. It is my favorite holiday china. Thanks for sharing.

Well if I needed a push to start decorating you just did that. This is spectacular and I wouldn't change a thing. This pattern is so pretty and your Christmas table last year was beautiful. I adore Christmas and look forward to popping in to see what pretty and festive posts you have created. Deb

Hi Carolyn
The Friendly Village is a nice pattern for this time of year, the snowy scenes are nostalgic.
Your daughter is a lucky girl to have a talented mother to make these pillows for her.

Beautiful dishes, Carolyn! I love seeing them again on your blog. I'd love to find dishes like these myself. I look when I go to the antique marts but never have much luck with finding transferware. Love the pillows you made. I have some of that same fabric in my stash.

Carolyn, You are off to a great start for Christmas. I think starting now is a welcomed way to enter into the Holidays with leisure. I'd like to get one of my trees out and place it in the conservatory and have it ready to decorate.

I love Christmas and want to enjoy the decorating as I go.
God bless,

I have turned positively green with envy! I absolutely love your Friendly Village collection! I wonder whether any might be available on E-bay, I suspect it'a US or Canadian design as I've never seen anything like it in the UK.
