Hello everyone,
Yesterday, I made a few changes in the kitchen before starting to decorate our bedroom. This bay window has had several different looks over the years-I know, I like to play house a little too much. Any way, we moved the chaise that was here up to our bedroom and put this little cabinet that I painted white into the bay. I put up the longer curtains as the evenings are dark now so I didn't like the blackness of the windows at night. That makes sense doesn't it! My husband has noticed that I love change(a little too much) so I have to justify myself !!!
I got this beautiful hand crafted wreath from Lise a friend of my daughters and if you would, like to have one too you can order one by contacting Lise at lmthomsen@live.com
I love how it looks on the mirror in the library.
But it also looked good in the kitchen on the old shutters.
Leise also makes these adorable sock monkeys and has a limited number available for anyone on the Island who would like one for a little one. The sweet little one hugging this one is our grandson Lucas and he is NOT for sale! Contact Lise at lmthomsen@live.com.
Thank you for visiting me and please let me know if you like change too so my husband will know I am 'normal' after all!!!
note: if you leave a comment saying you are happy to leave everything the same- I will have to delete your comment Ha! Ha!
I am joining Savvy Southern Style for Wow Us Wednesday and French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday.
Take care,
Carolyn

Yes, yes, I love to change everything around my house, so do not feel bad...love your blog, I do read each and every post and I enjoy it very much , greetings from New Jersey:)
I love your changes! And yes, I love change too much too, I think you're normal, because that's the way that I am! But don't ask my husband about that. :)
Your colours are so pretty, I adore the cream and red that you use.
I love the curtains in there, perhaps something like that would look good in my kitchen eating area, how high have you hung them, are they basically just covering the windows? And not hung close to the ceiling?
Your little grandson is adorable.
Hugs, Cindy
I think the change looks wonderful, Carolyn. From looking at your photos, I find I'm developing a fondness for red transferware; your pieces are so lovely.

Beautiful, it looks like a doll's house! Hello from Sicily!
Haha.. husbands don't like changes.
Believe me a white base is also practical with changes! Of course I think it is lovely ... my taste ;)
Beautiful Lise, so creative!
Greetings to all, Diana
I love your changes, Carolyn! You can let your hubby know that there are people out there that change things up much more frequently than you. : ) I love your cozy look. Love that candle. I am going to have to figure out a way to wrap some toile paper or fabric around one for myself. Love your cute little donkey, too. He is looking charming for Christmas!
beautifulllllll <3

Tutto bello,troppo bello!Come al solito da sogno!Rosetta
Love the red toile and the cute donkey! Oh, do I like change! Having lived the longest in our current home, I get bored very easily with it. I am always looking for ways to change things up. So, you can tell Andrew you're not the only one!! Good thing that doesn't apply to our hubbies and children, eh?
Blessings,
Sandi
Since August I have been going through "stuff", clearing out, donating, and moving around. Curtains changed on bay windows, new curtains up on side front windows, floors cleaned, furniture totally rearranged downstairs and on the balcony. For me this is totally normal and my mother was the same way. So I'll have to label it genetic inheritance. Grins!
Love your changes Carolyn! And I am one who loves to change. My husband does not get it either LOL!
xx
Anne
I always love your changes, but, like the rest of blogdom you are just the RIGHT kind of crazy!
Hugs!
Carolyn,
I look forward to each and every post and every single change! You inspire me!
Thanks and keep it up!
Sandy
Hi Carolyn, oh goodness I change decor here at the yellow weekly if not daily. At our old house not so much-don't mention that. Of course we must change up our homes. It is what a woman who feathers her nest does. Beauty is important in these stressful times, I think. Your red and white is lovely. That grandkiddo is darling too. xo, Olive
I know what you mean about blocking out the darkness in winter. I tend to close curtains and blinds early in the evening too. It just feels cozier. I love making changes too and have already changed my Christmas decor around some. lol It's fun to play house. :)
Hello Carolyn....Tell your hubs I LOVE changing things around. Change is good in all things (except changing husbands. ha ha)
Love your decor in today's post. Especially endearing is the little burro with the holly around his neck! Sweet!
Nice job! Susan

It looks so nice. And I DO like changes too, but doesn't make them very often. Maybe I'm too lazy, lol. Your donkey became a favorite for me!
These wreaths are so beautiful. Guess it's a bit far away to have one in Sweden, lol.
Hope you have a nice day.
Love Elzie
Hi Carolyn,
You are very normal in my book, as I love change too! What you have done in your bedroom is just beautiful and I love the white and airy curtains. But your red transferware is to die for! Love it all. God bless.
Cathy
PS. Because of you, I am collecting red transferware now.
Também amo mudanças, isto da vida a nossa casa, a nossa vida. Tudo muda e precisamos mudar também. Isso faz bem a alma....

Yes I love change (ouf you won't have to delete my first comment !) I don't know why may be because I follow your blog since a long time I didn't dare to comment : my English not really fluent. May be you make part of the desire to create a blog to notice the work in progress of my home !

Being in the new house, I've felt like I had things 'figured out' and didn't want to change anything. I was kind of stuck... and burnt out. But, I DO LOVE to play house, too. I won a chance to take part of a bloggy e-course, 'the Creatively Made Home' - and she said that she moves things around every three months. Woah! I'd never survive it - too much homework to wrangle out of three little boys around here! But, it freed me up and I've just moved the living room around. Aaaaah! So fresh! =] So. I think. You're good. =D (heeheeheee!)
Well, I simply could have said the same things as last time because it's absolutely true - so fresh and pretty!!! =]
xxoo
and, oh, how I love the light coming through your windows! It's been beautiful like that around here, too! =]
Beautiful, Carolyn! Love the winter change you made - and it makes sense, too! lol! The days are shorter and darker, so more white inside helps us all get through these days. :) Change is difficult for me once I create a vignette I love. I'm so afraid that once I dismantle it, I won't "find" it again! lolol!
