Our Bedroom Makeover

Hello Everyone,
We have enjoyed the most amazing weather here the last few days. It was sunny and 25 degrees celsuis here today. The past two days were record breaking temperatures and wiped out a lot of our snow.
Anyway, I have pictures to share of our bedroom makeover today. It was a big change for this room and for awhile I wasn't sure if it was going to come together or not but now I love it!
The toile Mare Antoinette quilt I had for a few years but used it in a different room and even in our little cottage at Christmas as some of you may remember. The gauzy cream curtains I made from fabric I bought at a thrift shop a few months ago. I love the romantic look they give the room. The gothic style mirror I bought at Homesense.
This lingerie dresser came from Coulson's in Summerside and got a few coats of paint over the brown stain that it was when we bought it.

There are lace curtains on the window but They are washed out in my photo. Our bedroom is upstairs so the door leads out onto a big balcony that you can see here.
The brass on the fireplace is going to get a couple of coats of black heat resistant paint tomorrow so it will blend in.
This is before the mirror went up.
This was the look yesterday and I still have a little teaking to do.
The pine armoire to the left has been painted too.

The dresser was pine before and we had it for several years.I think it was a good change.
If you would like to see the bedroom before check it out here.Where I enjoyed the warm cozy look for awhile-it started to look to busy lately-must be the influence of so many beautiful calm white rooms I am seeing around blogland.!.The color on the walls is Cottage White by Behr in case you are interested. I have had a few people lately ask about pinning my pictures on pinterest and yes that is fine with me as long as they link back it is all good!

Well, what do you think -do you like it?

I am joining French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday and My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday today.

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

I like it all very much! I've been loving the white look for ages, but it takes so much work that I haven't done much about it. You have some wonderful features in this room. That screen door is one of them. Love your gauzy curtains, and the new mirror too! You must be so excited for spring!

BRAVO, dear Carolyn!

Hi Carolyn,

Welcome back! I'm so glad you're doing well, my friend. It's still winter here. Ugh!

Love the new look - so fresh and it makes the room seem even more spacious. What did you do with the 2 doors that were behind your bed - the ones from Restore? Send 'em my way, would ya?! Ha! Now, is that a painting of Andrew on the tile on the fireplace? Lol I know how you like your details, so I would not be surprised! :-) The painted white pieces unify the room and I think it is all gorgeous. For some reason, I am craving a marshmallow...Dreamy! Sigh.

Hugs,
Linda

Wow I love your bedroom makeover it is just beautiful, I would love to have a fireplace in my bedroom, we have one in the formal lounge but it is not very common to have a fireplace here let alone in a bedroom.

It looks beautiful and so serene, Carolyn! I did like it the other way as well, but I can understand how you feel having lived with oak and pine for a long time. Our move was a great incentive to make a change to our decor.

Hi Carolyn,

The bedroom makeover is looking fabulous! I like the white shade of paint you´re using, it´s not too bright. The mirror over the bed is beautiful. Nice to do a room over and freshen things up. Although, I very much liked the "before" too ;)

Are you still having 25 degrees Celsius? Wonderful! We are having lovely spring weather around here, 13C and very sunny!

Have a great weekend,
Sanna
