Spring Touches!

Hello everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We enjoyed our first spring like weather the last few days and it is so nice hear the sound of water dripping of the roof etc. Many roofs had to be shoveled off this year as there was so much snow on them the weight was too much. The melting snow has been going into the ground as there is no frost so that is a good thing!
I am joining Cielo today for Show off  your Cottage Monday and Susan at Between Naps on the Porch so I am sharing a few photos of our hallway today. For those of you who don't know our house is about one hundred years old and the hardwood floors and woodwork are original to the house.

A few days ago I changed the dishes in here to my pretty cream ones -Crown Ducal Florentine from England.

My husband gave me the teapot for my birthday a few years ago and it blends in perfectly.

If you would like to see more of these vintage dishes please click here.
These were the dishes that were up before-although of course I had removed the Christmas touches weeks ago.
These look more like spring-don't you think. My mother-in law had a few of these pieces which I always loved so I was excited to find these last year for $40.

For more cottage show offs be sure to visit Cielo at the house in the roses.

I am also joining Susan for Metamorphis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch where there is also lots to see.
.
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Carolyn

I can't believe how much the snow went down over the weekend! Our birdbath was completely covered over and now I can see the top of it.

I enjoyed seeing your stairwell and the beautiful newel post, original floors and that gorgeous china cabinet today. It looks so lovely and summery. Love the dishes too! We also enjoyed the mild temperatures on the weekend and our snow melted considerably but we are receiving freezing rain this morning - not good! Hopefull it will change to rain later. Thanks for a peek at your spring look. It's beautiful!

Oh, how lovely, Carolyn! I love those sweet dishes and I thought the tea pot was part of the set! Just looks like sunshine. The snap with the sun coming through from the other room with the lace covered table is gorgeous! Enjoy the sunshine!

Hello, Carolyn,

Gorgeous, as always. I love the spring-like dishes in your china cabinet. It gives it such a fresh look. I have a pattern very similar. My dear great-aunt sent me her gorgous Haviland "Pasadena" with all the pink and blue roses, and I have loved it and used it and enjoyed it thoroughly. I may dust it off and display it more prominently this spring. Sometimes just rearranging things makes it feel so fresh and new.

Thanks for the inspiration, Carolyn. Have a wonderful week. Hope you'll stop by when you have a moment.

Blessings,
Paula

Helt underbara bilder! Spännande att få en glimt av ett hem i Canada. Underbara te- serviser. Även i Sundsvall/Sweden. är det mycket snö. Men det är takdrop och ljuset har kommit åter. Vänliga hälsningar Zinnia

I find you through Franciskas list. I should have some photoes in her book too. I will visit you later. :) Hulda, Husfruas Memoarer.
