A Blissful Afternoon

 Hello everyone,
We had a beautiful sunny Sunday here and so I enjoyed some a blissful hour or two relaxing and getting some Christmas decorating inspirations from some of my old Victoria books. If you know me you know how much I love Victoria.
The sun was beaming in this small bedroom and I thought I would enjoy my afternoon of rest right here.
you have probably noticed I love toile and though I have read you should only use touches of toile I have thrown caution to the wind and surrounded myself with it. I think I also read rules are made to be broken!!!
I also love lace and flowered china.
old christening gowns

Of course I needed a cup of tea.
But then I remembered that I had made my husband's favorite dessert -bread pudding, so I snuck a little bowl of it too.

and now for the books- some inspiration for you too!
Isn't this beautiful???

I sure did enjoy my hour (or two) of bliss!.

Today I am joining Sandi for Tea Time Tuesday at Rose Chintz Cottage and Kathy at A Delightsome Life for her celebration of Victoria.

Thank you for visiting me,

Carolyn

Dearest Carolyn,

It was hard to tell which were the pages of Victoria and which not... Your place looks so romantic, especially this little room. Don't blame you to sit in the sun and do the reading there, while savoring such dessert over tea!
Hope the sun stays with you this week.

Carolyn, I love this bedroom. It is so pretty with all the muted toile. You have some very pretty christening gowns too. Also, I have never seen a bed like that before with the curved foot board. We are getting rain here this morning and it is foggy as well. I'm ready for some snow - are you?

Sounds like an ideal afternoon in every respect, Carolyn! I love toile, too, although I don't have any in the house currently. But relaxing in that cozy room of yours with Victorias and bread pudding has to be the ultimate luxury! As much as I can imagine such an afternoon, I rarely get to put it into actuality. Thank you for letting me share yours. – g

Hi Carolyn
Funny I just heard about toile the last Sunday. You were right to broke the rule, it looks gorgeous. And mmmh, the dessert looks delicious but as I can see the bowl is empty and I don't need to desire for it :o). I hope it was as delicious as it looked.
Take care
Alex

I love this room...I can see a young lady with a white cotton dress and a beautiful soft bow on the back of her head, hair pulled up with long finger curls...enjoying a cup of tea and reading a book...or sewing on a piece of linen for a pillow!
