Vintage Tea

Hello everyone,

It was a beautiful warm sunny day today so it was such a joy to be outside doing some fall clean up and a lovely walk on the boardwalk in Rustico so I am a little late serving my tea today.

The little vintage doll I bought at the 70 mile yard sale a few weeks ago- isn't she a cutie! The charming little teapot is from a local antique shop. The vintage postcards(below) were old ones that my Mom had sent to my Dad after the war. When the war was over Dad returned home to the Island to buy a farm and then send for my Mom a few months later. They got married here on the Island on Mom's arrival. I enjoy having these souvenirs.

Did you notice the old vintage chennile bedspread acting as a chair cover?

A thrift store teacup to match.

Dainty plate from a yardsale.

These little salt & pepper shakers were from an auction sale.

Now don't forget your gloves and little beaded purse when you leave!

Vintage doll

Now here is another little vintage doll that you all know and love-you do love me don't you? HeHe! No don't answer that!

A collage to end my little vintage tea.

I think I am still in time for Susans Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch but there will be hundreds there before me and I am still a little shy in a crowd in spite of being a 'vintage doll' ! Ha!
I am also joining Cindy at My Romantic Home for show and Tell Friday where there is another big party going on.

Thank you for visiting me,

Carolyn

Oh Carolyn, The picture of you as a baby made me giggle.... you were so cute.

How special and wonderful to have kept your moms postcards to your Dad. Things like that makes it so real at the time to actually feel what they were all about at such a young age.

The color on the teapot and all the other things that were purchased at separate times is amazing how perfect everything matches nicely. and wow what a lovely color! I like it all very much!

It was an amazing day, wasn't it? I wonder if it broke a record. How wonderful that you have your mother's postcards from her courting days!
Your finds are just gorgeous, Carolyn! Love the little tea pot and doll! The flowers inside the teacup are a lovely touch. Your baby picture is adorable and I'm sure there are lots of folks who still think you're a doll!
Enjoy your evening.

You lucky girl Carolyn finding that doll!
Yesterday I went with Melissa from Cranberry Cottage to this antique store that had an old doll like this one. I had seen it a few time previous and decided to go and purchase her. Well she was gone!!
I should not have waited!!
I love dolls next to china. Your doll is lovely!!

You remind me how very behind I am on autumn chores in our garden. But your charming tea is so inviting, I'm sure I could sit for just a little while and forget it all! The china is wonderful but the best touch is the postcards. How special to have them, Carolyn. Hope your weekend is as beautiful as today was.

Oh weren't you the sweetest little dollie!!

Love this post Carolyn - and wasn't that a perfect day? I spent the afternoon down at the ferry park - so beautifully warm and the Strait was like a mirror!

PS - lovely find at the 70 mile YS - I didn't get a thing this year.

What a sweet story and how precious those memories. You were a beautiful child. What do your granddaughters say when they see that picture of you? Probably hard for our grandchildren to even think of us having been young as they are now.
