Island Scenes

Today I thought you might enjoy a little tour of the Island(Prince Edward Island) .The peaceful photo above was taken at Knox Dam a beautiful place on the Eastern end of our little Isle.
This is Knox B&B right beside the dam. I love the house too and think it would be a beautiful place to stay.
This photo was taken last year at West River.
My husband and I went touring a couple of weeks ago and I took this shot in French River-a beautiful little fishing village.
Of course living on an Island we have lots of beautiful beaches-this one is on the north shore.
The south shore has beautiful beaches also and when the tide goes out it is lovely for walking or playing in the sand. the water tends to be warmer on the south shore but on low tide you may not be able to swim.
This photo was taken in Clinton. I wanted to show the hills and valley's.
I fell in love with this farm on Malpeque Bay. Isn't it beautiful?
This is the restored mill in Hunter River.
And of course ,being an Island there are lots of lovely lighthouses. This one is in Fort Amherst.
The rolling hills of New Glasglow.
I couldn't do a tour of the Island and not show Anne of Green Gables-I hope you have all read Lucy Maud Montgomery's book that made our little Island famous.
Time to go fishing on the Lake of Shining Waters.
This shot was taken in Northport up west.
This beautiful church is in the western part of the Island -the other side of Malpeque Bay.
Now with the sun setting it is time to say good bye. I hope you enjoyed taking a little tour with me around some of my favorite places on the Island.Someday soon,we will have to do this again!
This is the only photo I could find that remotely says Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadian friends.(taken last year in our garden).
My sister is coming home from Vancouver for a couple of weeks so I may be more sporadic with my blogging while she is here.
Happy Canada Day and Happy Fourth of July to my American friends.
Have a safe and happy weekend,

Oh I just loved that book. Read it twice and still have it on my bookshelf. I am so in awe of the picture of the gentleman fishing alone in his boat! The soft ripples of water spreading outwards as his line had been cast is just awesome. Touched me so much as my brother who just passed was so into fishing it consumed him. He would have loved this picture and he so loved Canada too! You should enlarge this picture it would make a great Christmas gift.

I would love to see this beautiful island in person one of these days. After all of these years, Anne of Green Gables is still a favorite of mine.

I've had some catching up to do on your blog since I was away for a while. You peonies were gorgeous and I loved the pictures of the decorated garden bench, I just stared at some of them, they were beautiful!

Happy Canada Day Carolyn
Our vacation on the island was one of the best we ever had and I'd love to come back again.
The in-laws from Tignish are here visiting and just love gong to the big malls for some shopping.
Hope you have a wondeful visit with your sister from Vancouver. I know that people that leave PEI always miss it - like our son-in-law.

Ilove these photos of your island. I always loved the covered bridge in that scene where Ann spoke to thelittle boy and his dad - remember she made him paint the outhouse. The covered bridge was very victorian like gingerbread.

Oh, what a beautiful stroll... and "what a splendid day!... I pity people who aren't born yet for missing it. They may have good days, of course, but they can never have this one"... oh dear me, did you just hear what I said? My goodness, why am I talking like Anne of Green Gables? I sure feel as if I'm her... ;)

Carolyn, I am sighing with contentment. I have always dreamed of visiting Prince Edward Island - Anne of Green Gables of course. You have brought back that same feeling - I can just imagine how beautiful it must be - is it like stepping back in time in some places?
I appreciate it always when you stop by, your comments make my day!
I have listed guidelines for the upcoming Victoria Blog Party. I look forward to seeing/reading what you may have. Thanks for sharing your lovely island!
God Bless
