For the Love of Peonies!

Hello everyone,

My peonies are in bloom now so I am happy to share some photos that I took of them today with all of you because I am sure everyone loves peonies!

As some of you may remember we have over one hundred peonies in our garden. The early ones have come and gone but most of them are in bloom now with a few later ones yet to come.

These photos were taken in our terrace and as I was taking them I was enjoying the roses blooming in the background.

I love all the different colors and shapes of peonies.

Love their fragrance and I love them in bouquets as well as in the garden.

When I turned to get shots on this side-I enjoyed some of the peonies blooming in the garden behind.

Blooming in the background here is the lovely Miss Canada lilac and on the right the Japanese Ivory Silk lilac is yet to bloom and it also has a lovely sweet fragrance. I love that the lilac and peony season can be extended a bit by having different varieties that bloom at different times. Alas, it is still not long enough to suit me but for everything there is a season! At least I can enjoy the memories of them through my photos.

Well, that is a few of my peonies but if you would like to visit tomorrow I have more to share.

I hope I didn't hear a groan because I have LOTS more. Aren't you glad if you get tired of my obsessions you can just pull the plug on me -not so for my dear husband!

Take care,

Carolyn

OMGosh..Carolyn, my hubby and I are Lilac addicts and also have a small garden of Peonies. We do have a Miss Canada,(my mom was born in Canada) Miss Kim,Koren Lilac, Beauty Of Moscow, Maiden Blush, Sensation, Tinker Bell, Thumbellina,Nellie Bean,French Lilac and of course Pocahontas...
we call our yard Lilac Lane..And of course we adore our peonies too. Maybe I should do a seperate blog on my garden and not just my Valentines. You are an inspiration to all garden lovers...I love your photos. Allows me to visit and relax! Excellent photos.

I love peonies too and this year planted a row of them on the left side of our home. I had a few bloom last month, but they are still babies. Can't wait til they get big.

Your peonies are so super gorgeous! I think they are my favorite flower. I have never had them until my garden here in Winnipeg and I have enjoyed them so much this year. Last year we had three small bushes and this year we have twice as many, maybe next year we will have more still! Your Miss Canada lilacs are so pretty, too. I don't get tired of your gorgeous flowers.

Carolyn, I never tire of looking at your beautiful photos of your garden. It's amazing. I love peonies, too. They don't last very long in Arkansas because of the heavy rains and wind we get in the spring.

Peonies are one of my favorites. All of them in my gardens have long bloomed -- I wish I had some that bloomed later in summer. Could you tell me the variety you plant that blooms late? Thanks so much for sharing!

Carolyn: Thank you for sharing the lovely pictures. I have only a few peonies but they are lovely - wish there were more. My lilac was frosted this year just as buds were starting to swell - first time in twenty five years it hasn't bloomed. Ah well - always next year.
Thank you again - I especially love the table setting shots - fine china and linens are two of my loves.

Hi Carolyn,
Oh, I never get tired of looking at your peonies! I'm back to answer your questions.
I do remember Pauline although I don't remember very many from those days as we moved around a lot. I won't be attending the reunion because we have a wedding that day. Please tell Pauline I said 'Hi.' Have a lovely day.

Blessings,
Sandi
