Hello everyone,
I have been missing for a few days because I am trying to get some projects done before spring arrives and hopefully garden season. I actually had a few snowdrops blooming in the garden the end of February and that never happens here in our zone 5b garden! Unfortunately, we got a few centimeters of snow since and they are buried again-poor things.
Anyway, some of you may remember that we had to strip 21 double rolls of wallpaper off and then paint woodwork ,walls furniture, frames etc. I think my husband was afraid to sit still in case he got a coat of paint!
I found the wooden oval mirror at Second Glance. I think it was perfect for there.
My husband ripped off the old carpet and we had new carpet installed called Driftwood-it is a little lighter then in the photos.
I found two of these tin photos at Winners. They where brown so I painted them Victoriana (Ralph Lauren) the same as the stairs and woodwork.
This is the hallway going to our bedroom. We painted the walls Golden Ecru from Manor Hall.
This is an old picture of the stairway before- I had to force myself to post this one because it didn't really look this bad but it was the only one I could find!
Well, that is one of our projects but our livingroom is undergoing a big makeover as well so I will share that with you later.
I am joining in for Show and Tell Friday again and thank you Cindy for hosting. I am sure you all know Cindy but if not, you are in for a treat when you visit her at My Romantic Home!
I hope you all enjoy your weekend
&
Thank you for visiting me.

Oh, Carolyn. The stairs look absolutely awesome. You and your husband did a fabulous job. I love the brightness, the mirrors, everything! The little angel planter, too, is perfect! Great job! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com
I began to wonder where you were--and then of course, the projects. It looks tremendous and I can't believe you stripped all that wallpaper. I hope it was sized well so that you didn't have to scrape much.
Oh, it looks LOVELY! I just love the cream on cream and the whites and I think it accents the woodwork so beautifully! Your accessories are just perfect, so YOU!
XOXO

Your entryway and staircase look wonderful! I adore the shade of off white that you used, I so love that look. What a great job you did!
Both the entryway and the staircase look fabulous. I love the tin picture. I've got to ask is the urn and cherub just sitting freely on the post? Or is it attached? I love it there.
That looks so different! Amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do! It's beautiful!
Poor little snow drops are going to freeze their heads off!
Your hall way is gorgeous!
Carolyn,
I have an 1880s Victorian and we are in the process of removing wallpaper. I feel your pain! Your stairway and hall are stunning.

Just a few month I talk about such a work to my husband, but he doesn`t like to hear at this ear!!! So I think, once I do it by myself.

It's so beautiful! I think that y'all did a wonderful job on transforming your stairs and the paint on the walls looks so much better to me than the wallpaper! Looks so much larger too. I love how you painted the mirror and the frames to match the staircase. I bet you smile every time you walk up those stairs!

What no teacups after all that work you really do desreve a sit down and a cup of tea in your lovely china.
The hallway looks lovely as everything you do does straight from a glossy home magazine.
Carolyn.. took me awhile to catch up on all the posts that I missed.. but I did save the best for last!!!!
What a great transform!!! You should be soo proud of your work as everything ties in so nicely together. And the twin girl dresses just set the picture. Now I know what I'll do with my 50 year old gown and I thank you for it.

Hello Carolyn
After wall papering our entire first house then having to strip it to paint, I can sympathize with what you just went through.
The only room with wall paper in the home we're in now is the kitchen and it is due for a makeover too.
I really like the colours you've chosen which compliment the character of your older home.
I see you and Cindy both paint over items you buy with unique results - this has me thinking....
Judith
looks beautiful!
A very lovely makeover. The white is very refreshing. I love your cherub perched on the stairway, as if to bless those going up and coming down.
Blessings!
Gwen
Hi Carolyn,
You have done a good job! Your hallway looks very peaceful and stylish. I love the colour you chose and the way you decorated the walls with the mirror and prints. It must have been an enormous job. We have done some work in the house today as well. Jan has painted the bathroom walls and I have done the French doors of Annebelle's bedroom. I am so glad I have the time now! I did not regret my decision to stop blogging so far. There is much more time left now to read a book, work in my garden and in the house. And I can still visit your blog and leave a comment :-)! Hope you are all well.
Enjoy your sunday! From a sunny Rotterdam,
Lieve groet, Madelief
Thank you so much for all your kind words!
Treasia,
The cherub is just sitting there for now to see if we like it but it will be attached if it is staying there.
Take care,
Carolyn
