Hello again,
We arrived back home last night after taking a little trip down to Maine. We had amazing weather the whole time we were there. We drove down to Kennebunkport on the southern coast of Maine. I thought I would share some of our journey with you.
The above photo and the four below are from a B&B we stayed at on the way down.
I liked the way it was decorated.
We walked on the beach- so different from ours with all the houses along the beach.
a more rugged coast line a little further down
We enjoyed lots of long walks
We also enjoyed walking around the town
I think this is very New England
They have many nice restaurants
with great food. Chocolate banana bread pudding for my sweet tooth!
I think I might get lost in some of the lovely big homes-I wonder if they have a dozen or more children!
I think this one is for sale-I love the ornate architecture of this one.
Some of these homes are in Kennebunk -neighbouring Kennebunkport.
This charming little shop got top marks from me for charm and they even had a little table set up outside with punch and sweets-how sweet is that!
Their window at night-we enjoyed walking the town at night also.
This is another charming shop- it looks like an English shop front to me.
If we got tired of walking we could take a horse and carriage.
Of course we also did some shopping.
One of these birdhouses had to come home with me-if you guessed the little church you would be right.
and then it was home sweet home again! We had a great time but it is always nice to come back home.Tomorrow we are going to the attic for our Christmas decorations-I would be embrassed to tell you how many boxes are up there!
Thanks for visiting,
Carolyn

What wonderful photos...brings back many memories...I LOVE Maine, we have been there a few times on our way to or from Cape Cod Mass.
Good to have you back though! xx
I love your pictures, indeed some of the houses and shops look very British. What a wonderful part of your country you have shown me.
Greetings from Holland, Carina
Hi Carolyn,
Welcome back! It's good to read you had a nice trip. I hope you had enough time to relax and enjoy each others company. Your pictures look beautiful. I have never been to the USA before, but Main will certainly be on my list. I love all the old houses. We don't have houses like that (and your house) in Holland. Our houses are mostly built of brick. I like the painte facades. It's good to have you back again. I look forward to your Christmas decorations! Have a lovely week!
Lieve groet, Madelief
Welcome home Carolyn! Your trip to Maine looked like such a lovely time - I'm putting it on our agenda someday. I'll have to get the name of the restaurant with the Chocolate banana bread pudding - oh. my! That looked delicious.
Glad you had a wonderful trip. I love Maine - I lived there for many years and still spend summers there. You have captured the Kennebunks beautifully.

Loving pictures. My parents used to go to Kennebunkport with my Aunt and Uncle for two weeks in September each year. They loved it. Those houses are gorgeous to say the least. Thank you so much Carolyn for sharing the pictures from your trip to southern Maine. One of my favourite places! I love old houses of the Atlantic Seaboard and keep a picture file of house ideas that might apply to my circa 1820 cape style house here in Nova Scotia. Was able to stash a few more pics from yours. Thanks.
Looking forward to seeing your Christmas decorating ideas.
