My Yard Sale Treasures

As many of you know I went to the annual 70 mile yard sale here on Saturday. Today I am sharing photos of most of what I bought. I did get a nice white iron bed($10) for Abby my granddaughter but it went to her home before I took a picture.

The little stack of dishes were less then$10.

the pretty pink cup was$1. but no saucer however I knew it would look pretty with the pink saucer I had.

This cup and saucer was $1 also.

The cup and saucer in foreground $3.

This lovely plate did not photograph well but it was $10.

25 cents for this cute little handmade heart

These brackets for our veranda were$12.

I got these dishes and a pink tablecloth and two wooden curtain rods -oh and a red and white transferware plate all for $5. The teapot doesn't have a cover but it will look nice with a little bouquet of flowers.

I already had this teapot from the yard sale a few years ago.

I love this $10. platter. It will look good in my porch on the wall.

book $2.

I love this tablecloth with the lace border for $8.

I got a new English cottage cup and saucer for $3. I already had the teapot and one cup and saucer.

this door($35) came from the restore last week. I love it!

This beautiful big tablecloth was a find a couple of weeks ago. If I can bear to cut it,I plan to make curtains from it.

I got the little bowl for 50 cents but the pitcher came from Coulson's $20.

I got this lovely pitcher Saturday at my first stop for $5. I love it. Notice the lupins are having a little bit of a second bloom.

Now,I remember a little pair of white curtains with pretty lace edging for $1. that I forgot to show you.I hope to make them into pillowcases.Oh! and what might be my best buy -a big wooden window with wooden grills for $20. We are planning to build a greenhouse sometime so it will be perfect for that.

I also found there was a lot of nice clothes some still brand new so I got a few new outfits too!

So that was my day, don't you think I did pretty good? I think this sale is a great idea as people from other provinces come over for it so it gives tourism a little fall boost and it is good recycling.

Take care,

Carolyn

You did SO much better than I did - I think wedding flurry wore me out this year. I didn't have my usual umph. I did get a few little things - a sweater drying rack, some magazines, a little patio table and an over the shoulder bag - brand-new for $3.

I'm off to VV today so maybe I'll do better :)

PS - I just mentioned to R that you did so much better than I did at the sale - and he said you had dropped in. He forgot to tell me :) Sorry to have missed you!

Carolyn, what great bargains. I have been looking at the conversion from $ to £ and I think it is marvellous. I love the china cups and saucers. The hand made heart 25 cents!!!

You always have such creative ideas eg, teapot no lid, use it for flowers, me I probably wouldn't of bought it!!

Sounds like you had a great day, well done. Jackie.

Carolyn.. me thinks you need to host a 'tea' party soon! I'll book my room now.. the upper bedroom to the left with the sunny eastern view will do me fine.. and no need for extra pillows as I'll bring my own! heehee. I am a fan of the soft violet china. I melt when I see it. Thank you for sharing as I know it takes precious time to post and comment and explain.. only special sweet peeps like you and others take this time and what a blessing it is for ME!

Ooooh... what great finds!! I just love finding treasures this way! Your blue plate/platter is so pretty as are all the teacups (my weakness!!) That lace tablecloth will look great as lace curtains. Perfect in your home and decor. Oh and I meant to ask... what is the 70 mile yard sale. Is it just the name they give a hugh yard sale or is it really 70 miles? I know there are some places in the U.S. that have highway long yard sales. Enjoy all your treasures!! Hugs!

You found some amazing treasures for such great prices! What a wonderful idea, Winnipeg should do that. They had "Curbside Giveaway" last Saturday, but sadly I was out of town and when we got in late that night, everything was gone. That lace tablecloth is so beautiful, they will make such lovely curtains. Hugs, Cindy S.

Hi Carolyn,

I am very much impressed by your finds at the yard sale. It is so much and for such low prices! How did you take it all home with you? I like the floral cups, the lilac bowl and jug, the beautiful blues and the lace tablecloth. You must have had so much fun giving it a place in your home! I wish you lived nearby and I could have come with you.

Een fijne dag! Lieve groet, Madelief
