Garden Tea

We are having hot summer weather here and since we will soon be moving into fall we are enjoying being outdoors as much as possible. So why not stop for a cup of tea in the garden.

This little table and chair set was green but it got a coat of antique white a few days ago.
I found this lace tablecloth at a thrift shop(I hope you can't tell it is plastic) and I thought it would be perfect to cover a small umbrella with . I love the romantic look it gives for a garden tea.
Now it will work but I do need to find a smaller white or beige at a yardsale or thrift store.
This is just an experiment to see if I like it.
I had an old white lace tablecloth that I cut a hole in the middle of to fit the umbrella into.

I think I will try out a few other spots in the garden to see where to put it ,
but, for today let's sit here with a cup of tea.

There are so many plants blooming right now.
I will pick you a nice bouquet before you go.
Hope you enjoy your day!

That is such a great idea with the tablecloth, and no, you really can't tell that it is plastic. You always have such wonderful ideas! I have my very own little back porch off of my craft room with table and chairs. I just need the umbrella and tablecloth now. I hope you won't mind that I use your idea! Fall is starting to show around here too, but I don't mind since with the heat of August we are usually ready for September!!

That is soooo pretty, Carolyn. Your tablecloth does not look plastic, it looks very romantic! I am so glad you are having lovely summer weather, we are raining again with a high of 18 degr. today. Yuck, yuck, yuck! My apples are tiny and are already ripe and falling off the trees. I am just throwing them away. I am glad that not all of Canada's weather has been so ugly. Please enjoy the sunshine for me! Hugs, Cindy S.

Hi Carolyn
It is very hot here today and I wasn't planning on going out but I'll make an exception for you and come over for a cup of tea in your beautiful garden.
Hugs, Rhondi

Hello Carolyn, well how ingenious ~ your umbrella cover is such a fabulous idea to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Very clever!

The freshly painted table and chairs are charming. I love the romantic theme ~ it all looks so ethereal and you've captured it so well in your images. I absolutely adore your blog! Thank you for sharing so generously.

I love the lace on your umbrella! Great idea! And no, it doesn't look like plastic at all. Love the little lace cushion on the chair too; it adds such a sweet and feminine touch!

What a beautiful serene setting for tea! I love it all, and the tablecloth on the umbrella is such a neat idea.

I like the lace over the umbrella.
I used a lace shower curtain over ours last summer (this summer the weather has not cooperated at all! I feel like summer has passed us by this year. Sad.).

Nice post!
All the best,

Hi Carolyn,
Such beautiful pictures in the garden today. And I love the gorgeous bouquet in the basket. So pretty. Aren't garden phlox just the best?
