I hope you all had a good weekend-we are having beautiful summer weather here on the Island so I am loving it. Today I thought I would join Susan at her beautiful blog Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphis Monday.
This is my first time joining in and it is just a simple project.
This is an old cast iron stove that someone had put out on the roadside on junk day. We loaded into the trunk of our car and hauled it out to the garden.
I wasn't sure what color to spray paint it first but then I remembered on post on Room Service -Decorating 101 where she had posted some pretty blues in different gardens that caught my eye so I decided to give it a try. I really like the punch it gives the garden and it is perfect for this pretty little fairy rose just coming into bloom but it will continue to bloom into fall with very little care.
This is what the stove looked like when we took it home. you have to love freebies!!!
Thank you Susan for hosting and be sure to check out the other entries at Between Naps on the Porch.
Thank you for visiting me!
Carolyn

Isn't it lovely! We don't see such things on the curb for trash day out here in Southern California!
Your blog and garden is so lovely, thanks as always for all the inspiration and beauty!
You have such a good eye for reusing other peoples left overs. Lovely.
Oh what a find! I love it and that shade of blue is just prefect! Hugs...Brooke

That's an amazing transformation! And you picked the perfect color blue. The pink roses look fabulous against the blue. Very pretty post!
I love that! Nice transformation....beautiful color that you decided on!

Carolyn,
I am in awe of your garden! The old stove was a real find and you did such a wonderful job painting it that gorgeous blue color. I strolled down the rest of your posts and I cannot believe what a beautiful garden you have created to enjoy. I have signed up to your blog so I can learn gardening tips from the obvious pro that you are. Have a nice day!
It's simply beautiful!
Gorgeous!! You have a wonderful garden!
What a perfect robins egg blue to use on that old stove. It makes the design really pop! Isn't it amazing what some people will get rid of? That's great though for people like us!!
You dd a wonderful job with that old thing - the blue surrounded by the green foilage - it's great in the yard - I never would have thought of that, but I'll be eyeballing things in a different light from now on! Thanks for the inspiration!
It is beautiful, and I am amazed at the fabulous design on the front.
The blue you choose looks so pretty, and your fairy rose stands out dramatically in front of it.
Your stove looks so pretty in front of those lovely pink roses. I'm going to write a note to myself - keep your eyes out for old stoves and get a fairy rose for next year's garden :)
It looks great blue and thanks for the link. I feel special...lol I am getting so jealous of your garden I may have to visit you with a big can of round up!
Great idea going blue - it just pops and looks great with the flowers !
Hugs ~ Kammy
Love that colour on the stove, really turns heads I reckon, just like you said, it really gives the garden a punch, and yet blends in quite well without being too much.
Wow! That color POPS! I love it in your garden. Great Transformation!
I have never seen a stove so intricate in design on the side! I love it and especially the price ;) I too am a fan of pops of blue in the garden.
It's nice to try out different colors for different setting, and the color you used seems to be perfect for the garden. Looks fantastic!
