Coming soon.....!

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.

There is lots going on here this
summer but one of the biggest
changes is that a blog friend from
California is living in our house for
the summer. I met Barbara and her
family a couple of times as they came
to tour our garden. It seems Barbara
and I are kindred spirits as we both
love gardening, pretty china,tea times,
and of course Prince Edward Island.

So as we were chatting and working
in the garden yesterday I asked
Barbara if she would like to
host a fundraiser tea with me
and she jumped at the idea.
So, we immediately started
planning menu,flowers,
china etc.

We are planning on a late June garden tea.

The photos above are from my
Downton Abbey themed tea
a few years ago.

Barbara and I will be happily planning
this over the next week and I will keep
you posted. We have decided on donating
the proceeds to benefit the people of
Ukraine .....a very worthy cause.

I will have more details soon so check
back as there will be a limited number
of spaces available.

I have met so many lovely people
from all over the world
 through both the garden
and my blog.....never
realized that would
happen when I first
started blogging over
fifteen years ago!

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

Tea and Roses

            Hello everyone,

It is a beautiful sunny day here today
and it is predicted to be warm and sunny
for the next several days which is a good
thing as we are expecting our good friends
Linda & Midge
from NFLD for a  few days and on Sat.
I have a  lovely wedding to go to plus this
Saturday is the 70  mile yard sale.
The 70 mile coastal yard sale is always a
fun event with so many treasures
big and small to  enjoy.

I picked a small bouquet of Polaris roses
from our garden as they are putting on
a late show.
Polaris is one of my favorite roses in
our garden as they are hardy, bloom well and
they are pretty shades of pink before turning
white.

Love this pretty aqua teacup with
the vintage tablecloth with roses.

I recently found this chintz teacup
at our local thrift shop and since
I don't often see chintz here I
grabbed it.

Well, it is time for our morning walk
so a little sea glass hunt on the beach
and then a walk in the park to see the
four big cruise ships that are in the
                                                                   Charlottetown harbor today..

So, don't forget the 70 mile coastal yard sale
Saturday and Sunday if you love
treasure hunting, but there will be
lots of traffic on the main roads so
                                                                   please drive carefully.
                                                                            On another note the Downton
Abbey movie we have been waiting for is
here now and I am looking forward to
                                                                  seeing it with some friends.

Yesterday's photo of one of the
three  cruises hips that came in
taken by my husband with his phone.

                                                                                         Enjoy your day!

Yesterday was a busy day in the garden as we

Our late July garden a few years ago.

Take a tour of the Gardener's Cottage

Enjoy our little Boathouse that my husband and
son built a few years ago using recycled windows
doors etc.

The Boathouse is a favorite spot with
many of our visitors and I have enjoyed
sleeping in here on warm summer nights.

I love being able to use my rather
large collection of  pretty china.

My friend Janice on our screened porch ,giving the bouquets a final
tweak. I love picking bouquets for the tables
                                             from the garden .

So, if you are free and this looks like
something you would enjoy and support
a very worthy cause at the same time you

Summer Garden Teas

Hello everyone,
I hope you didn't give up on me
as my little blog break stretched
out a bit longer then I planned.

This time of year there is always
lots to do as we get our garden
ready for the season and spring
cleaning done inside.

We are getting some beautiful spring
weather here so it won't be long until
we will have lots of color in the garden.

I am looking forward to tea
in the garden once again.

So, I am sharing some summer teas
from past summers.

       Ah! so romantic
                                                                       Evening light is also
                                                                       very romantic....don't you think?

I love garden bouquets and
pretty linens.

An afternoon tea by the pond.

Right now our garden is still in the
brown stage but the warm weather we are having
will make a big difference.

Appleblossom time

Cabbage rose tea with transferware.

A sunny summer tea

The Downton Abbey Tea I
hosted a few years ago.

I am looking forward to hosting
a garden tea for a very worthy cause
in July this year.
I will have more details coming soon
so if you are interested stay tuned!

Thank you for visiting me,

Carolyn
