Summer Bliss

Hello everyone,

It has been awhile since I posted

and I can't believe it is almost

September.

However, we have had a beautiful

summer and I have been 

enjoying spending time

relaxing at our Ocean Song

Cottage by the sea.

It was a calm peaceful day

with the tide rolling out

so a little time on

my vintage chaise

was the order of the day!

                                                                     Lemonade and a healthy snack
                                                                     along with a book was all I needed
                                                                     to enjoy some peaceful relaxation.

You can see a fishing boat off

in the distance and I enjoy

listening to the call of the

seagulls.

                                                                 enjoyed capturing the moment for you.

                                                                             

                                               With all that is going on in the world today
                                                          I am grateful for these peaceful moments
                                                          in time.

Lady Baker's Tea

Hello everyone,

It is time to enjoy an afternoon

tea in the garden.

      Today tea is served here in Martha's Garden,

our little enclosed garden.

                                                       Earlier this summer Katherine from
                                                       Lady Baker's Tea did a photoshoot
                                                       in our garden. You can check out

                                                       her delicious looseleaf teas lemon curd etc.

I am a big fan of scones,lemon curd

and clotted cream....what about you?

Peaceful Sunday

                                                                   than listening to the waves lapping on
                                                                   the beach when going to sleep or                                                                                                                                            
                                                                    or when you wake up in the morning?

             One of my favorite reading spots!

is also peaceful.

The Charm of Flowers

Hello everyone,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

We are getting a much needed rain here

so I am happy for our garden and lawn

as well as the farmers crops as it has been

a beautiful but dry summer here on the Island.

This morning before leaving our little

Ocean Song Cottage I took a few shots

of the back porch.

My husband made the curlicues for me

and planters and hanging baskets

really add a lot of charm.

I bought the old chair for $1

several years ago and

I think it adds charm with

a basket of flowers.

                                                   Well, after spending some time weeding
                                                              and deadheading in our garden at home
                                                              we have decided to treat our selves to
                                                             a late lunch at one of our favorite summer
                                                             places.

Clematis in the Garden

    Hello everyone,

   I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

  I can't believe it is already into August,

          the time when our garden is the most colorful.

           We finally, had a good rain this morning but we

         could use a couple of days of rain as our lawns

are getting burnt out.

                                                                       Anyway, the clematis is putting on a good
                                                                       show right now so I took a few shots to
                                                                       share with you.

                                                                         This is a newer clematis but
                                                                          it has a few blooms poking
                                                                          through the arbor.

                                                                       Jackmani superbra is one
                                                                       of my favorites.
