Welcome Autumn

                       Autumn has arrived and there

                       has been a coolness in the air

                      the past few days so it is time

                           to dig out the wool plaid throws

                     to snuggle up in to enjoy the

      evenings outdoors.

sale. It was an all day event for

my sister and I this year.

      I came home with lots of treasures

again this year.

            A few of our trees have

              started to put on their fall

show.

                       Have a cup of tea before you go

                  with an early autumn garden

Memory Garden

                                                                                    Hello everyone,

                                                               Last year I planted a small garden bed in
                                                               memory of my Mom who passed away in
                                                               January 2015 and this summer it felled in
                                                               nicely so I thought I would share it with
                                                               you.
                                                                         
                                                                                                                             

                                                                       A little garden angel watches
                                                                       over it.

                                                                        An antique watering can sits
                                                                         on the cement garden bench
                                                                         but there is room to sit and
                                                                         and enjoy good memories of
                                                                         my sweet mama.

                                                                      Cosmos ,dahlias, knockout roses,
                                                                      lavender and boxwood fill this
                                                                      little memory garden.

                                                                            The bed is at one end of
                                                                             our Allee Garden.

                                                   So although the garden season
                                                              will soon be coming to a close
                                                              soon I hope to enjoy it a few weeks
                                                              longer before a frost takes it for
                                                              another year.

Cupboard Makeover for my Transferware Dishes

Hello everyone,

I have been doing some  painting projects

lately so I thought I would share this one

with you.

This cupboard was given to me and

   I loved the cupboard but felt it needed

       a color change to fit into our home better.

        My transferware china did not show to its

best advantage with this look.

 

                                                                   So,after a few coats of chalk paint I
                                                                   I had fun putting some of my blue and
                                                                   white mix of china in it.
                                                                 

                                                                         These were a pretty thrift find.

                                                               Another thrift find ~ a soup tureen.

           A tea set gift from my husband.

 

                                                                     A pretty vintage tea pot from a friend.

I am still doing some tweaking on

it but enjoying the new look.

                                                    We are enjoying beautiful late summer
                                                               weather here so I must get out and enjoy
                                                               it.

A Hint of Autumn

                                                                          Hello everyone,

                                                           The last couple of days have been
                                                           hot and humid here but there are hints
                                                           autumn here and there as I have noticed
                                                           a few leaves starting to change and before
                                                           this heat wave struck the evenings were cool.

                                                           I am not one to give up on summer early
                                                           though so my tea today has just a hint
                                                           of fall.

                                                                     I picked a bouquet from the
                                                                     garden with some autumn
                                                                     colors.

                                                                             Using chintz teacups for
                                                                             our tea today.

                                                                            Daliahs, hydrangeas, cosmos,
                                                                            rudbeckias and phlox.

                                                                                 A vintage tablecloth that reminds
                                                                                 me of early fall colors.

                                                                                  Just in case you wanted to know.

                                                                A peek at the garden ~ still lots of
                                                                          color but definitely showing signs of
                                                                          decline after a dry summer and well
                                                                          a hint of fall in the air.
                                                                             I love all the seasons but just planning
                                                                           to enjoy summer as long as I can
                                                                                 My sister is home from Vancouver so
                                                                            we will be touring around the Island and
                                                                            enjoying time together.
