The Beauty of Winter

Hello everyone,

I hope your week is going well.
We have been celebrating some
family birthdays here the past week
so I didn't have time to post here.

Yesterday was a project day as I
cleaned up out our little pantry
and gave it a fresh coat of paint
and got rid of some clutter in
there.

I took some shots last week
on a pretty winter day.

Our sun room on a mild
                                                                        sunny winter day.
I like the winter berries in the window
                                                              box with the snow.

We had a good snowfall
the middle of the week.

I went for a walk around the pond.

I shot this through the bay window.

I love a snow fall that stays on the
trees.

Our woods......many years ago when our house
was built the road actually went through here. Now,
it is at the other side of our home.

Winter is so beautiful...don't you agree.

After all that walking through the
woods ....I think it is time for a hot
  cup of cocoa!

Hope you have a lovely day,

                                       Carolyn

  2. Pretty images, Carolyn. How lovely the road is on the other side of your property now. You get to enjoy the woods with no traffic or folks walking through. You surely have yourself a little haven there. The hot cocoa looks wonderful!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  3. I love the snow and you certainly have a lot. We are down to the brown ground here. I also love your paperwhites. that is always something that helps you get through winter! They must smell lovely too on the porch which probably is the perfect temperature for them.

  4. Carolyn, your cozy sunroom corner photos have been my favorites this winter, with it's various throws, pillows and decor. In my sunroom, there is a corner exactly like this with a skirted sewing table built in along both walls under the windows. Inspired by your pretty photos, I am taking that out and putting a comfortable chair and side table in that corner. I knit more than I sew, and this will be the best place in the house to do hand work. You inspire me inside the house as well as in the garden. With a project to get done and with most of winter behind us now, this gardener can hang on 'til spring.

  5. I totally agree! And you have captured winter's beauty wonderfully! I love that little white lantern with the candle's soft glow against the snowy backdrop. I also love that you left all your "pretty" stuff outside on and around that table to get covered in snow and then thought to take pics of it which look amazing!

  11. How beautiful your garden looks, even in winter Carolyn. All that snow! We have had none so far in Rotterdam. It feels strange, more like autumn than winter.

Lovely photo's of your sun room. It looks like a very inviting place. Beautiful daffodils!

Enjoy the rest of the week!

  13. Thank you for the Winter's wonderland walk you shared with us.
Some people don't want to hear about snow, but been a Newyorker I do miss it, as in this neck of the woods is chilly and sometimes very cold, but not to the point of snowing.
So white and serene to cozy up with a hot chocolate.
    Hugs,
    FABBY
